UPDATE: Last chance to grab your games from the original list! Make sure to get them until June 8, 12:59 PM UTC.

Want more games? We've got more games! Three new titles are now available through GOG Connect:

- Kona
- Defender's Quest
- Door Kickers

You can get them until June 13, 1:59 PM UTC.

Today, we're launching a new program called GOG Connect. The premise is simple: connect your Steam account and add your eligible games to your GOG.com library.

Whether you're checking us out for the first time or have been with us for a while, GOG Connect gets you DRM-free versions of your games, digital extras, and a whole lot of freedom of choice (like whether you go with the GOG Galaxy client or not). It gets you our take on game ownership, and we say: why buy the games more than once?

Thanks to our awesome partners including Deep Silver, Harebrained Schemes, Jonathan Blow's Number None, TaleWorlds and more, you can now add more than 20 games to your GOG.com library if you previously purchased them on Steam.

The full list of games will always be available on connect.gog.com, starting with these and more:

- The Witness
- FTL: Faster Than Light
- The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Final Cut
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Trine Enchanted Edition
- Saints Row 2
- Shadowrun Returns
- The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

While GOG Connect will stick around, the available games will come and go. These are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers, so stay tuned as we bring new titles onboard in the future (and grab your copies before they go away)!

For a bit more library-building, a bunch of our favorite titles will also be discounted up to -85% all week long, including The Witness, Saints Row: The Third, System Shock 2 and more. You can check out all the deals here. The sale will last until June 6, 12:59 PM UTC.

chriss1418: Subfolders are not a problem. I have several and the games were still found.
Yes, your harddrive isn't being scanned in any way; by agreeing to connect your accounts you're giving GOG permission to take a peek at your library over at Valve, and that's how it 'knows' what it needs to know.
Interesting path the one GOG has taken, I tried it and it worked flawlessly, had 6 games from the list, already owned 3 here so I got the ones I didn't have on GOG.

Thank you GOG and Steam, quite a nice deal going on here.

I understand GOG's angle on this, but I'd like to know Steam's angle on this deal, perhaps for the same reasons as GOG, but we all know Steam always has a hidden card, if someone have a theory, please reply to this post and elaborate, I'd like to know what you think.

Cheers.
Why can't I use this feature via GOG Galaxy? I could do it 2 days ago, now when I click "get connected", it opens the tab in Chrome. It used to open that page in Galaxy main screen 2 days ago.

Worked like a charm, six more games are now in my library, thank you GOG :)
So I tried this before knowing I had to set my profile to Public and understandably no games were recognized, but now I've set it to Public and it's not recognizing them, I hope this works before the offer is over.

EDIT: So after waiting for a couple of hours, changing my steam to public and trying again it worked and recognized my games.

GOG get more users. Valve gets more GOG users purchasing on Steam and using GOG as a backup. I think they both do win out in some way... although I wonder if in the long run this will hurt GOG financially.

It's quite a strange move, though. I don't have the business mind to really see the true purpose behind this. I mean it can't be all PR and consumer good-will. Feel like there's a trick somewhere :P Maybe it's just data harvesting. That'd be profitable enough to GOG now that I think about it. Knowing all their userbase' steam games, buying habits etc. Valve knows how valuable that information is... GOG taking a bite?
Yeah I'm curious too about the background of this deal between GOG and Steam, it's not something I expected.

And to the game devs who love DRM and want me to buy games full of it I say: go 'amuse' yourself, I'll never buy something from you. DRM is the worst thing you can do to trustworthy customers.
So thank you GOG team! You're my hero! :D

blakstar: In your Steam profile page you should have a link to Privacy Settings. In there, you have a number of choices as to whether you make various sections Private, Friends Only, or Public.
Thankyou. I use Steam so little (just for games I really want), I actually missed that.Don`t really like opening up my profile, but so be it for now.

Still doesn`t work, but maybe I just need to wait a bit now.

Nothing to do with Steam, its just using their API to access list of games.

It the publishers being honest and giving you access to an unlocked version of their games.
ok, I have connected, and scanned, and gog got 2 of my games (van helsing and two worlds)

problem is, I have lots more games that should be on gog, like Disciples Sacred Lands Gold, Blackguards 2, age of wonders, majesty gold hd, majesty 2 collection, torchlight II (just some games I checked randomly, should be more, and I have checked both versions on gog and mine on steam are the same)

and it's been 2 days, I have refreshed couple of times with no avail
gog couldnt find more of my games

my profile has been public on steam from the start, thats why gog could find 2 of my games, right ?
what can I do next ?

All the games you listed above aren't yet included in GOG Connect, apart from the two that you received.

misscrabtree456: It doesn't discourage me from buying on GOG. [...[ I am not a big fan of Steam.

Pheace: So I already had you covered when I added "(for those who don't mind using Steam of course)"
Ahh, Yes an oversight on my part.

Ic.. so it was misunderstanding on my part.

It worked at last! Galactic Civ 3 which I always originally wanted on Gog has shown up! Wonderful.

Yes it needed about 4 hours after going public for it to finally show. Will be waiting for others like Dying Light to show up when up.

I hate being chained to Steam so this is a dream come true for me. Now I`ll be able to play my games if I lose the net with no 3rd party utility using up extra resources of my pc !

myfire88888: ...
I assume you figured it out, but the eligible games are listed under "CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE FOR GOG CONNECT" on the Connect page.
