How about Sholay, Indian movie that you can call "Curry Western". It is also considered to be one of the best Indian films, and it is actually good (I have seen it).

Some Belgian movies that I really like:
Toto le héros - From his childhood on a boy is convinced that he was switched at birth and at the end of his life he wants revenge for his sad life.
Le tout nouveau testament - God lives in Brussels and he's quite an asshole who beats his wife and his kids and likes to torment mankind. His daughter runs away, tells everybody their death date, assembles twelve disciples and tries to make things better.
De helaasheid der dingen - A boy grows up in a social underclass family surrounded by alcoholism, gambling and people who don't even try to make something out of their lifes. Can he change his fate to something better?
And of course everything from the Dardenne brothers, especially and Le gamin au vélo.
And of course Ex Drummer which is quite extreme though and might not be for everyone.

Embrace the Serpent is one of the best reviewed films of the past couple years. You might want to check it out.

onarliog: Everyone knows Oldboy, but this one is my favorite:
https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/im_a_cyborg_but_thats_ok/
Love those two. Oldboy is actually part of a trilogy, the other two being Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and Lady Vengeance. Well worth a watch, imho. https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/im_a_cyborg_but_thats_ok/
atoning: Infernal Affairs - A Hong Kongese movie that The Depahted was based on. I actually haven't watched it, but people say it's better than The Depahted, so if that's true, it should be pretty good.
[...]
It is far far better. The Departed is actually based on the whole trilogy (Infernal Affairs 2 / prequel, and Infernal Affairs 3), and attempted, in usual Hollywood style, to tell the whole story in a 2.5hrs, which it couldn't, imho. [...]
To add to the many great suggestions, including some of my all time favourites, from the top of my head:
- Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring
- Samaritan Girl
- The Bow
- In Order of Disappearance
- A Long Way Down
- 360
- Zulu
- The Magic of Belle Isle

Oh, Bin Jip is among my favorites.
But I say that, for me, his masterpiece is probably Seom. Personal fav! :)

HypersomniacLive: Hehe, a fan indeed. Seom was actually the first of his works I watched, hence the one that made me a fan.
Then you gotta watch Ag-o, from 1996. Easy to find these days. For a debut I'll say that's an amazing piece of work.
