Greetings all,

So I turn on my PC to go and play my 3rd playthrough of this wonderful game and I happen to be lucky to have the GOTY edition of Witcher 3. I look into my GOG list of games and my game is MISSING!!! I mean it is simply NOT there and then I run into this error:

Installation failed: Disk Access Problem

What gives? I am currently re-downloading my entire GOTY edition and am afraid that I wil lose my saves. Anyone know what to do or if I am doing the right thing by re-downloading? I hope I have not lost my saved games. Your imput is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have no idea if there is anything you can do, but try to check this forum out:

Maybe you will find something useful there.

yes I am using GOG and thanks for wishing me luck on me still having my saves files. I am currently re-installing the game from GOG so I am at 17 GB / 34 GB. I guess time will tell.

Thanks
Suggestions on future install:

1. Never install to Program Files or any other system folder. That often will give you access right issues.
2. Antivius software might have caused it, f.ex. flagged certain files/folders
3. Don't use/depend on Galaxy.

And yes, good luck with those saves. Backup often ;)

I just bought Ys Memories of Celceta and I'm getting the same problem. Installs to 99.9%, then says, "Installation Failed: Disk Access Problem." All other games I can install and play as I've tried several others, so seems to be only this game. I have searched for a solution, but so far I haven't seen anyway to get this working.

I tried using the offline installer, but the exe file seems to be missing as the shortcut link to launch says the file does not exist. If anyone knows of a solution, I would be appreciative. Thanks.

Check your Anti-Vir, maybe it falsely quarantined the exe file. That would also explain the disk access problem, since Galaxy failed to access the file because it was locked and quarantined. That's currently the only idea I have why an offline-installer-installed game should be broken like that.

Thanks. I did check on that and it wasn't getting blocked. I logged into Gog Galaxy this morning, and it was not working, but I just logged in again tonight without changing anything on the computer, and now it finished installing and I can play the game. Not sure what changed, but it seems to be working now for some reason.
Hi guys! So i recently got Homm4 and when i download it, at the end of the download, it says that there's been an error, "disk acces problem". Now i've tried solving this problem but i just couldn't get it to work. I started chacking my files and i saw the heroes file so i went in it, and all the files are there, but the launcher says the game isn't installed? Any help?

I think, I may have detected the possible problem...?

In the specific cases of c:\Program Files or c:\Program Files (x86), a game installer must be run with admin rights or the install will fail.

This will not be necessary if a game is installed in any other directory.
