Gog, you guys need to add information about games when the require the "optional" galaxy client to play, I was thinking about buying Offworld trading company since as stated it is "DRM free", however somewhere way below there is this text "Please note: The GOG version of Offworld Trading Company does not support custom lobbies and multiplayer is ranked only. The GOG Galaxy client is required to access multiplayer. ", thankfully I noticed this before buying so I can give this a skip.

This is not minor information about the game, this is major information about the game and should be viewable WAY sooner and in bigger letters, not at the bottom.

Can you guys please add information like this up where the "Add to cart" button is, that way we can save ourself some time reading about this stuff in the reviews and scrolling far down to notice it, in my book anything that requires you to be online to access a major part of the game is not "DRM Free" and it most certainly is not "No activation or online connection required to play. "

Gog's DRM free promise has only ever extended to single player if I remember correctly.

Obviously for anything other than local or LAN multiplayer you will need to be online, many recent games don't implement their own multiplayer and so rely on Steam and now Galaxy to do things like matchmaking.

The single player campaign is entirely DRM free and playable offline, though I have to say it's a little on the repetitive side (the whole game) as there's not a lot of variation from what I played of it.

Totally not going to happen. GOG provides the information on the page already and just like system requirements and other stuff it is really up to the customer to do their homework with the information already provided. If there is enough interest in the community for something better than that, then someone could either write a browser addon to "enhance" the website with this kind of information, like the "Super Steam" addon for Firefox or "Enhanced Steam" for Chrome does for the Steam store. We have the "Barefoot Essentials" and "Adalia Fundamentals" addons that do a lot of cool useful things, and it's possible someone might potentially interest the authors of those addons to add such functionality to them if there's enough interest.

GOG is running the store to make money, not to cater to niche anti-Galaxy users etc. so they're not going to put something on the website prominently that only matters to 0.001% of their users and may confuse or send mixed messages to the entire rest of their customer base.

This is really the domain of browser addons.

P.S. After I submitted my comment, I noticed Adalia commented above me... perfect opportunity to hit him up for adding it to Adalia Fundamentals hehehe.

I think in this case he makes a valid point. From what I understand, the Steam version offers co-op play, as well as unranked multiplayer, while the GOG version doesn't. Because this is a significant difference between platforms, it should be more prominently noted. IMO.

Well I am not just talking about this game, there was a game recently that required you to create an online account to use, that was not specified there, also what is the harm in notifying players about online connection needed to play a big part of the game??

It is not like I am demanding the take the game off the shelf, I just wan´t relevant information right away.

I am not asking for alot, I am asking for relevant information, the information is wrong when stated "no online connection" needed, that is not true, an online connection IS needed, galaxy or not.

These 2 lines instead of the 1, it is not alot of work.
DRM-free single player campaing.
Online connection needed for multiplayer.

A browser addon is not a good solution to a problem like this, because it is easy for it to miss this information and getting a refund because a browser addon told me it wasn´t like this is not going to happen, but if the error was on gog then it is a valid reason to get a refund because of.

I know gog is running a store to make money, but think about the problems that arise from players that wan´t to return a product because of this, the more information a store has readily available the less tickets are needed, this makes support easier and that makes the store make more money.

This might not be a big deal to you but you would be surprised how many people here on gog this matters too, this is why many users are here, it is because it is suppose to be DRM free. For the life of me I cannot remember, I read many reviews for that game of angry players.

The reason you can't remember the name is because there are no games on GOG that require the creation of an online account to use. :P

Now technically you need to create an account to get EVERY game available here, but not to use them.

Well not single player (Sorry, that was not clear from my earlier line), but Victor Vran f.e. requires a 3rd party account to multiplayer, no mention of that in the description from gog.
Supposedly also has a phone home DRM according to one reviewer.

He might refer to Age of Wonders 3, a lot of DRM-free extremists complained about it BECAUSE YOU NEEDED AN ACCOUNT FOR MULTIPLAYER. So yeah.

Oh this thread drama queen again. The epic failure of some people that need to learn that not every game dev is going to create their very own multiplayer lobby and matchmaking just to please a very small vocal minority on gog. If you don't like it, then don't buy it.

Look, just so there is no misunderstanding, I am not demanding these games be removed or not offered here on gog, all I am requesting is the information about all the shenanigans be available near the "add to cart" button. It is not hard to add "Requires online connection for full functionality", a game that requires online connection for a major part of its functionality (like multiplayer) is not something I categorize as "no internet connection required to play" also a notification "Requires 3rd party registration for full functionality" is something that would help too.

It is not much to ask for these things, and saying "Well you should do your research" is something I disagree with, I should not have to go to various websites and forums to get basic information about the requirement of the games I buy, they should be available on the website where I buy the product.

Isn't that exactly what the OP wants to do. And to do that, it would be helpful if the relevant information to help that decision were prominently displayed. That's the point of this thread.

Well if you spent time reading what I wrote then you would have noticed that is what I am asking for, INFORMATION about the thing so I can "not buy it".
