Wow, a sign of life!

There had been no news post since the start of the year until now. There have apparently been quite big sales last week but they weren't announced. And there is still no release this year.

And this may well be an auto-post...

So, um, anybody home over there?

New thread! Hooray! ^° Long New Year, naughty GOG's Team : D

Lemme check games.....
Yay, I was worried for a little while and thought I'd have file some missing persons reports lol.

Glad I didn't have to, cause I wouldn't know how to do that from the US in the first place. =P
.
Rip gog. Not enough money for new releases

I assume Poland has extra time off for holidays or something like that

Yeh I m worried too, its unusual for GoG to go silent xD
But I guess its just a slow start, cause I just checked, and got subsriber mail with exclusive discount for Dungeons 2 and 3
What I d like for a start of this year would be ... Dungeons 4 to arrive here ... GoG pretty please :)

Could be the New Year Start Of Depression speaking, but it seems to me Indie Game production, quality-wise, is in decline. Guess it's the same with the big players, "classical" gaming in decline, mobile on the rise. "Labor of Love" products (I'd say "projects", like the 3+ years old listed in "Here's some of the deals") - gone.

// An innocent bystander speaking, keeping the track of GoG and Steam advancements in titles, the former likely biased (based on my browse & "ignore" history), for the last couple of years.

Same for books and movies. (Don't want to speak about politics)
Hardly anything grabs my interest recently.
Could by my fault.
Oh, my.
There are good indie games a plenty. Gog staff need to chase those developers down like a pack of cheetahs!

Youtuber SplatterCat does most of the foot work. There we are. Go gittem staff!
I think they're waiting.

1) I don't see indie games getting worse but more and more indie games appearing only on Steam.
This isn't necessarily a fault of GOG but if more and more gamers are only interested in having everyhing on one platform (not starting a discussion about licenses, ownage etc.) then other services will suffer.

2) Sounds like you are simply saturated at the moment.
I'd recommend you do something completely different for a while (a year or two). Go outside and photograph stuff, for example. Winter is great for this! Or improve your living situation.

Personally, I don't play as much these days as some years ago but still regularly.
I basically buy only on GOG nowadays -- so no new triple-A games for me.
Also, I seldomly buy games when they are new as I have a gigantic backlog...

The rest of my "play time" goes into learning to program - and *maybe* (really, only maybe!) I will someday complete my own little game. Then I could call myself a "game auteur" - LOL

Third time buying Hollow Knight. First time without DRM. Worth it.

I appreciate your posts, you are one of the few people I look for when speeding though threads :). While Calibrator has the better advice I did play a couple of recent indie games lately that wowed me: A Space for the Unbound (best story in any game I've played IMO) and Crystal Project (that I am currently playing and has a great sense of exploration and a good size demo, although the demo is somewhat more polished than the rest of the game that I've made it to).

I have major sleep issues so I like to remind everyone to avoid things that are disruptive to sleep and also pay attention to circadian rhythm, which includes keeping "active" during much of the day (not necessarily meaning exercise but movement and creativity and enjoying things are probably all helpful). Not just the sleep itself but a good waking up is helpful.

I appreciated not seeing news posts for a week, it helps remind us all to take a break sometimes :). I was going to avoid my usual online reading for a while like I've done a few times before to good effect but haven't managed to disengage yet, hopefully I'll just start a bit late...
