Could be the New Year Start Of Depression speaking, but it seems to me Indie Game production, quality-wise, is in decline. Guess it's the same with the big players, "classical" gaming in decline, mobile on the rise. "Labor of Love" products (I'd say "projects", like the 3+ years old listed in "Here's some of the deals") - gone.
// An innocent bystander speaking, keeping the track of GoG and Steam advancements in titles, the former likely biased (based on my browse & "ignore" history), for the last couple of years.
Same for books and movies. (Don't want to speak about politics)
Hardly anything grabs my interest recently.
Could by my fault.
Oh, my.
1) I don't see indie games getting worse but more and more indie games appearing only on Steam.
This isn't necessarily a fault of GOG but if more and more gamers are only interested in having everyhing on one platform (not starting a discussion about licenses, ownage etc.) then other services will suffer.
2) Sounds like you are simply saturated at the moment.
I'd recommend you do something completely different for a while (a year or two). Go outside and photograph stuff, for example. Winter is great for this! Or improve your living situation.
Personally, I don't play as much these days as some years ago but still regularly.
I basically buy only on GOG nowadays -- so no new triple-A games for me.
Also, I seldomly buy games when they are new as I have a gigantic backlog...
The rest of my "play time" goes into learning to program - and *maybe* (really, only maybe!) I will someday complete my own little game. Then I could call myself a
"game auteur" - LOL
