Hello, I'm new to GOG. I introduced my son to one of my old favorites: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. The game seems to run fine but I can't find a way to save our progress for another day. Is there a way to save the game, and come back to it later? Many thanks!

Haven't played it in a while, but I think it's F5 or Ctrl+F5 for menu in SCUMMVM, and you can save/load from there.
Does a menu come up if you press F1 or F5?

If you're running ScummVM to play this game:

https://docs.scummvm.org/en/latest/use_scummvm/save_load_games.html

For the rest of ScummVM's documentation, go to https://docs.scummvm.org/en/latest/.

Perfect! Thank you! Again, novice here so I appreciate it!

According to the manual and the reference card that come with the game: F1 is the key to save/load.

However: the manual also mentions "NOTE: During close-ups the Save/Load function may not operate."

Edit: out of curiosity, I started the game and tried F1 - doesn't work.
But F5 does indeed the trick.

No problem. Hope you and your son have lots of fun with the game. I wish there was a sequel or two.
The menu has always been F5 in any LucasArts game ever and ScummVM adapted that ;)
And please, remember to tell your son why punching Nazis is good for the world. Instill that into him while he is young.

He can then play Wolfenstein 3D and do more than just punch them....

This is one of my favorite cards in Munchkin.

And Bionic Commando, Golgo 13 (NES), plus a few others! In those, you can literally make his head explode.

I'd first try escape myself...

"Hello, IT. Have you tried turning it off and on again?" ;P
Most classic point-and-click adventure games, including Fate of Atlantis, typically allow you to save your progress from within the game.
Look for an "Options" or "Menu" button while playing the game. There should be an option like "Save" or "Save Game" within that menu.
After selecting the save option, the game may prompt you to choose a slot or enter a name for your save file.
