WBGhiro: "Cock Puncher"

Beautiful.
To be fair, that was him playing a parody of himself in "The onion" movie. Similar to Mark Hamil's CockKnocker in Jay and Silent Bob strike back.
E.R. Eddison, one of the earliest fantasy writers, was notorious for this. He has a few good names, but here are a sample of his more atrocious ones:

1) Countries with the oh-so-inventive names of Witchland, Demonland, Impland, and Pixyland.

2) Fax Fay Faz, Lord Spitfire (Spitfire's his first name, not a title/surname), Prince La Fireez

3) Prezmyra (would probably have killed be named Anastasia Rose instead).

Wrong thread. You meant to post this in the Appropriately Retarded Names in Fiction thread.

ydobemos: One of R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels has a villain called Roddy McGristle. Yes, really.
Some on R.A. Salvatore's novels also have a character called Drizzt which is actually ridiculous name :D.
I don`t remember the book, but in one Book the main character was named "Peter Silie" which would be literally translated as " Par Sley". :-D
Oh, and in the Perry Rhodan series there was a character named "Unfall Nummer Drei" which would be "Accident Number Three" in english.

ET3D: Stupid names are part of the fun. Hiro Protagonist from Snow Crash is a favourite of mine.
Ah, yes. Reminds me of the names given to the generic NPCs in the Stalker games. Oleg Battery and stuff like that.

HunchBluntley: Klaatu, Barada

Grargar: These were taken just as a reference to the phrase from the film "The Day the Earth Stood Still".
I know -- that's why I mentioned them (and did so in that order ;) ). They wouldn't be nearly as bad if one didn't know the origin, in my opinion. (Off the top of my head, I don't remember if "Nikto" was used for something somewhere in one of the films, but I suspect it was.)

Honey Ryder... Onatop... Kissy Suzuki... Plenty O'Toole...

The list is endless.
Catti-brie. >_>

That name alone has kept me from reading the Drizzt novels. -_-
