IMO a good way to get "into" Crowley is John Symonds' The Beast 666 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/990537.The_Beast_666

Symonds is not a fan or follower of Crowley, but he has enough insight into the occult scene at of that time to both value Crowley's achievement and point out his failings.

So I've been seeing vids about this child named Desmond Is Amazing for a few months now, and I've come to the conclusion that his parents are amazingly fcked up. I can deal with this child being a "drag kid", but why is he dancing in a bar that serves liquor, being ogled by men and given "tips", and why is he hanging out with "Party Monster" Michael Alig, who served 17 years in prison for murdering his roommate/drug dealer???

I used to hate myself, tinyE, but I reached a point where I realized that I didn't have to, that I could choose to learn how to love myself. And so I did, and it was the wisest thing I've ever done, by far.

Of course it's totally degenerate, Desmond's parents are irresponsible sickos, and in a sane world, child protection services would intervene...but we're not living in a sane world.
