The "secrets" are actually out in the open, and have been for a while now. It's the background noise at jet turbine level that's the problem. It's truly the "Age of Aquarius" where all secrets are dragged into the open, but it's near impossible to to discern the true prophets from the false ones.
It's not so obvious, since many Protestants don't actually believe in Satan as an actual entity. That's more of a Catholic thing, and still present in some protestant currents. I think the Orthodox also have him/it, but I don't know enough about those to really judge.

tinyE: Well the connection to Paganism is well told, and has been used to their benefit.
Look at the physical concept of Satan. It's obviously a rip off of Pan. It's a brilliant move. You want to get people off Paganism? Make one of it's (and I realize paganism is a general term for several systems of thousands of years) most recognized deities and paint your beacon evil, your villain, to look just like him.
Yes and no... the Christian church either declared old gods demon and devils, or saints. Although Pan is pretty much a clear case with horns and hooves and a huge phallus. I can really recommend Jitterbug Perfume for a nice relaxing Pan novel :-)

I'm into Ashtanga Yoga, which dates back about 6000 years, and these secrets are known to only a few -- thankfully. What is commonly referred to as Satanism, practiced by people such as Aleister Crowley, is not so well-guarded.
The problem with discerning true knowledge from false knowledge is that humanity has not yet awakened -- and probably won't if it doesn't happen fairly soon. The forces of darkness have upped the ante substantially in the last ten years, and are doing things that most of us would consider unthinkable. Suffice it to say that it's "crunch" time. In my estimation, intervention -- divine or otherwise -- is our only hope, as we lack the technological capability to cope with what is happening in the long-term. There are things that can be done to improve our short-term prospects, but the benefits are quite limited.
I hope I am mistaken, but every day I see more confirmation that this world is quickly being made uninhabitable for native life forms.

Do they believe that God is an actual entity?

I believe that Satan exists, and is real and is a spiritual and moral threat, because he is angry at God for making us.
But I believe that God will ultimately win, for Satan is a creation of God, since Satan used to be God's right hand, back when he was known as Lucifer.
does that explain it? some dominations in protestenisms believe he is either not real, or just a vague idea or concept.

richlind33: So what exactly is it that you believe re Satan, if you don't mind my asking?

For the record, I'm just looking to exchange information, not judge people. But I believe that God will ultimately win, for Satan is a creation of God, since Satan used to be God's right hand, back when he was known as Lucifer.

I see Satan as a metaphor for temptation. Spiritual gravity, if you will, the point of which is to make life challenging. I think demons and angels do actually exist, but can be described in a number of different ways and contexts. God I see as an infinite state of singularity that encompasses everything.

toxicTom: Crowley is not Satanism, although he sometimes coquetted with the term when it suited him (to generate attention for his teachings). In other circumstances he denied it. toxicTom

Not Satanism... it's a quirky way of freemasonry with heavy influences of Yoga and medieval and antique forms of magic(k), transformed. Satanism is "anti-Christian" which implies Christian, but Crowley in his later years was connected to Christianity at all - so Satan wasn't a thing for him too.

OK, I did some quick research -- yes, wikipedia... yes, I feel ashamed lol -- and Satanism is considered by some to be an offshoot of Crowley's occult mishmash. So point to you for technical accuracy. Occultism is the better term.toxicTom

Occultism fits, although it's a pretty broad term. IMO a good way to get "into" Crowley is John Symonds' The Beast 666 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/990537.The_Beast_666
Symonds is not a fan or follower of Crowley, but he has enough insight into the occult scene at of that time to both value Crowley's achievement and point out his failings.
