richlind33: If you gain mastery in something like tai chi, you'll develop an understanding of the nature of energy. The occult focuses on psychic energy, whereas tai chi and similar arts focus on life energy. But at bottom, we're talking about energy, which in the hands of knowledgeable people, is power.

but yeah in general I agree.
Feel free to discuss it here, if you like. God knows we get enough negativity watching the nightly news!

Lord_Kane: Satanic imagery is edgy and edgy stupidly makes money sadly, as for the imagery itself? I dont know, Doom has satanic imagery all over it, but thats usually because you are actually running and gunning in hell itself or areas it controls, but I dont put much stock in Satanic imagery or the "power" of Satan, as he is totally powerless in any reality.

Even people who claim to follow him are just doing it to be edgy and different.
But I guess it depends on how religious you are and how much stock you put into such things.

TARFU: +1 to you, sir. Outstanding post.
Has anyone seen the Sabrina remake by Netflix called "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"? Satanic imagery everywhere. The series isn't a comedy sitcom but rather goes into mystery/horror territory and is actually quite good.

As for having power in real life: The Satanic Temple is suing Netflix and Warner Brothers for 50 million USD for allegedly ripping off the design of a Baphomet statue in that series. Not a joke, google it.

richlind33: I would point out that a very strong case can be made that organized religion has Satanic origins.
Well the connection to Paganism is well told, and has been used to their benefit.

Look at the physical concept of Satan. It's obviously a rip off of Pan. It's a brilliant move. You want to get people off Paganism? Make one of it's (and I realize paganism is a general term for several systems of thousands of years) most recognized deities and paint your beacon evil, your villain, to look just like him.

Lord_Kane: I know the diff between religious satanism and levayian satanism, infact it was that who I was referring too as just doing it to be "edgy" I wanted to add satire but didnt.
avatar
tinyE: No, I'm sorry I didn't pick up on it and I should have known you were aware. I know you well enough to realize you are way smarter than I was giving you credit for, and for that I apologize.
Ah dont worry about TInyE, I am a man of forgiveness, I don't hold grudges and you dont need to apologize!

well I found your comment on organized religion being satanic in origin, compelling, I disagree, but like TinyE said, Christianity often stole/took over pagan holidays e.g turning a roman religious holiday into a christmas for new converts to assimilate better.

It's arguable, but for me, anything that's about controlling people is something I consider evil. Yes, hierarchy "gets things done", but when you look closely at what it is that's been done in this world, that's not a strong selling point from humanity's perspective.
BTW I think it's really cool that everyone in here is being so cool and mellow and most of all respectful. This subject can sometimes bring out the worst in people.

With a lot of people, some in my own family, just uttering "satan" in a conversation is likely to turn the whole thing into a mass of screaming and condemnations.

While as a christian obviously I believe satan exists, I dont believe he should be a hush-hush topic, I dont view him a threat, I view him as an eternal loser with no real power, who is destined to fail before God, thats all, but people can and do worship him for some bizarre reason, but I dont believe in being rude about it.
