These corridors sure are spacey.

StarCrawlers, a turn-based dungeon crawler set in closed space(s), is available now DRM-free on GOG.com for Windows and Mac with a 25% launch discount.

Dimly-lit cantinas in the outskirts of lawless space is when you can usually find the most skilled, specialized mercenaries. Also the best music. And if corporate espionage is your game, you know you'll need to put together a band of the most shady-yet-reliable people available. Those intrepid enough to hunt for bounties, undertake sabotage missions, and navigate the dangers of space while keeping you in good standing with all concerned parties.

The band of Juggernaut Games is also focused on keeping all interested parties happy. So they keep adding more missions, random encounters, diverse environments and tons of loot to their procedurally generated universe, taking into account their community's input along the way. For the remaining months that the game will stay in development, expanding the universe of StarCrawlers and fleshing out the campaign with more dynamic content are their main goals. That is, unless a band of ruthless mercenaries infiltrates their offices and wipes out all that precious code!

Pit your StarCrawlers against the randomly generated hazards of corporate warfare, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% discount will last until February 09, 1:59 PM GMT.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Matruchus: The game already has a Linux version running on Steam. While its not officialy listed as supported its already available there. So its shouldn't take long for it to come here.

Linux thread there: http://steamcommunity.com/app/318970/discussions/0/610574106418335799/

JuggernautGames: Hi everyone - Juggernaut Games here! We are using the Unity game engine and unfortunately the latest engine update broke the Linux build. So that's ill timing :D We're in touch with Unity now to get either a workaround or a target date for a patch fix, after which we'll being the Linux version back online as soon as possible.
So what's the game actually like?
I'm used to Dungeon Crawlers like Etrian Odyssey. How is this different aside from the random generation? (which seems like a bad idea to me)
Sidenote: will you sell the OST here?

Vythonaut: Also, please guys, don't turn each "In Dev" release thread into a negativity contest. I also don't support early access on GOG, but I see it wrong to make such negative posts, full of "colorful" language (as mrkgnao said) or sarcasm or whatever.

Vainamoinen: Indeed. I really don't like the idea, but I don't want to be responsible for the "In Dev" idea failing, so keeping the negativity in check in announcement threads is a good idea.

Unfortunately, it goes further than that, as developers like Double Fine or Telltale seem to have "neg followers" who are hell bent on basically bringing GOG down in the first place.
Why would DF or Telltale followers want to bring down GOG?

Already wishlisted it when it was "coming soon". And that's where it'll stay until it gets released ;)

As someone who played it, it's basically a tile-based dungeon crawler with turn-based combat and kind of a freelook feature that you can use to solve puzzles outside of combat :)

So Grimrock with TB combat, alright.

Yes but minus the dancing around the enemies :D

Dancing around enemies in Turn based combat would be weird. :P

Why, if we don't complain then they will think it is fine. Whilst InDev is about, i will complain about it. much like I always complain about Galaxy. If I wanted steam I would use steam!
Has anybody heard whether or not this could mean us Kickstarter backers who opted for DRM-free copies may be getting GOG keys soon?

omega64: I really want turn based dungeon crawlers. Just not randomly generated. :l
I think "randomly generated" and "in development" tend to go hand in hand:
- Starbound: "A procedurally generated universe with unlimited procedurally generated planets"
- Curious Expedition: "Endless replayability thanks to procedurally generated landscapes and stories"
- StarCrawlers: "Procedurally-generated dungeons and events create endless replayability"

Actually, from reading on the web, of the current batch of In Development games, only Project Zomboid might not be procedurally generated. It seems TerraTech and Ashes of the Singularity are, although I do not see it mentioned on the GOG game page.

Lost-brain: I wonder if it show the current state of negociation with publishers already on board : Is GoG only release early access games because it has no new contacts for realease "new" old games ?
GOG is simply expanding its "product range". First there were only Good Old Games, then Good New Games too and now we are offered Potentially Good (When They Are Finished) Games. There are enough people willing to crowdfund certain games. Why not join the fray and make money, especially when Early Access is done right?

Not followers. "Neg followers". The kind of pricks who love to reiterate every little historical fault of a certain developer in detail every_single_time a new release comes up on GOG. In short, they practise the kind of ratfucking Steam doesn't even give you the opportunity to do – and well yes of course that hurts GOG's sales.

All i want to say is that you will have my sword (and money) if you decide to port the game to the ps4.

That is all.

Of course you' re more than free to speak your mind and write your critique about GOG's choices, but doing it in bad manner isn't helpful and I trust a lot of people won't take you seriously. Look at robertgg's post for example. Also, I believe that, apart from the critique GOG receives, in the end the sale numbers will tell the truth about the success of the InDev feature. :)

No, they would call it "Tactical"! :D

Looks interesting, really. Will come back when it says "Release: Starcrawlers".

And yes, an ETA would be nice.
@JudasIscariot

When I download the standalone Installer from galaxy or the account page, it down the mac version.
Bug or no windows standalone for the moment ?
