Making a fortune can be slippery business.

Slime Rancher, a vivid sandbox full of bouncy balls of slime waiting to be wrangled, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 20% launch discount.

Gotta catch 'em all! Then round 'em up, feed 'em, keep them happy. Some slimes are vegetarians, while others have a taste for chicken flesh. Some have spikes, others emit radioactive energy, and those over the valley are known to explode on contact. Yet you want all of them in your ranch! Whatever you do, though, don't let your slimes go hungry. Because once that happens, even your trusty, all-purpose vacpack will have trouble containing them and that's a slippery slope, my friend.
Developers Monomi Park want to challenge early adopters with finding inventive ways to tackle everyday ranching, while they also promise to keep adding slime varieties, resource types, and environments, as well as a deeper backstory to the protagonist's struggles.

Roll up your sleeves and set out to make your fortune as the ultimate Slime Rancher of Far, Far Range, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 20% launch discount will last until July 12, 12:59 PM UTC.

assuming said person ever shows up

Zoidberg: Mmh, cool. And apparently fairly priced too.
avatar
almabrds: Oh no another incomplete game :/
avatar
Zoidberg: No game is ever complete, even when it's released, which this one ISN'T! It's written RIGHT ACROSS IT!
You mean the necessity of bug fixes never ends?
If so, I agree, most games still need the care of the devs, even after being released.
Among the various reasons I don't like incomplete games, is the risk of the game being abandoned.

lostwolfe: dear gog.

a toggle to not see in-development games would be great.

love, lostwolfe.
I agree.

I didn't said that. lol
And no they didn't got my money.
This game doesn't interest me.
Pretty late to the party and it's been cheaper.
I tried this a while ago and got bored pretty quickly, but I'll give it another go if it ever gets finished.
And is on sale.

robertgg: Another paid beta/early access.
Shame on you gog
This was downrepped, but I helped it (a little bit) get back to normal.
Respecting an opinion shouldn't be hard.
You're better than this, guys.

looks interesting on first view, but i'd guess that one gets pretty bored after 5-6 hours of playing it?

As is/was your first comment.

Yep, it seems like some people take personal if you say something not positive in these release threads.

catpower1980: Ah, this is the kind of game where a long and uncut gameplay video would be needed to give a better presentation as the gamecard text and the trailer are a bit lacking to give a taste of what the game really feels like. A demo would even be better to judge....
It's an In Dev title...it basically IS a demo. Granted, you have to pay for it but you can return it at any point for literally whatever reason you want within the first 2 weeks after purchase!

Besides, making a demo for an unfinished game which is regularly being updated would be rather counter-productive, as you'd either have to constantly update the demo, too, or leave it be and allow it to grow increasingly outdated and unrepresentative of the "full" game's latest build.
I'm currently watching the GOG Twitch stream and even if I don't grasp the subtleties, it looks like a very good game to chill out and relax. Wishlisted :o)

It's not his opinion that people (not this moose) downrepped; it's the fact that he has posted the same thing, pretty much word-for-word, in most every In Dev "release" thread here since the Games In Development program was announced. He can't even be bothered to write up anything interesting -- it's always those same exact words (although I notice he omitted "piece of crap" from the end of the first line this time! =D ).
Repeated copy & paste posts are irritating, regardless of the opinion expressed.

Another excellent Early Access game. Unfortunately, once again Steam was there long before you, GOG.

If these releases keep to the pattern of "great early access titles that Wishbone already bought on Steam because they were too late in arriving on GOG, and as usual, no information was given that they were actually on their way there", the next one will probably be Subnautica ;-)
