karnak1: Thanks.

Jaujon: You can also choose between 2D sprites or surprisingly good looking 3d models for the ennemies. You can also choose from two other display filters rather than pixelated (CRT and I don't remember the other one lol).
I had no idea you could also disable the "retro" style. Thanks for the info.

Linko64: I gotta ask

Since when did GOG become so afraid of calling stuff FPS? Is someone super adverted towards the idea of shooting stuff in games?
Am I missing something? They used both "FPS" and "shooter" (not to mention the phrase "paint the walls red") in the brief announcement paragraph.
(Also, the word you were groping for there was averse. :) )

The comment you were groping and tickling was made about lack of FPS tag to easily find FPS, a very popular genre within the GOG userbase. Click on the store page. :)

Hmmm, my shooter fix. I NEED IT.

When it's ready.
Might check this out once it actually comes out. Don't want to spoil the game to myself by playing it unfinished.

karnak1: I love the visuals but I can't really understand how it works. Can anyone explain how it looks like that?

Are its graphics originally built like that or is it "AAA" graphics with some sort of low-res filter?
For you and others who may be curious, I took some test shots while playing around with the settings. Playing it in "native resolution" just doesn't seem right. It also makes it stick out that enemies have no shadows to speak of. Anyway, even when using models the texture resolution also can be best described as pixelly, while the sprites can be downright blurry messes especially when playing in resolutions that are lower than native.

I more or less seem to have come to a happy compromise that works for me. I ended up sticking with a low virtual resolution of 360p with enemy 3D models enabled to actually let them have a distinctive shape. Any previously perceived roughness is pretty much whittled away by the low res. ;)

Good, I have removed it from my Steam wishlist with a smile. Now this wl entry can be marked as complete:

Thanks for the screencaps.
The graphic style is uncommon but I personally think it's highly original in the way it's applied. In some of the screenshots it almost looks like the character's weapons are 2D sprites, like in the old FPS.

Honestly all those look great in their own style.
25 € heh? Hmmm. ... ... ... Ahhh fuck it. GIVE NOW!
Picked it up a few hours ago and did around 2 and a half hours and got 6% done, This game is pretty long and well worth the asking price. I'm having more fun playing this than Doom 2016 lol, seems like the dev is doing good on his half.

Only issue for me in the game is some SSAO setting that makes a 2080ti lag at 4k. hopefully that will be fixed when the game goes gold.

overall PICK IT UP! it's dooms brother that does justice.
Weird, I thought this game came out eons ago.

Also, something something Non-Sense Fantasy Shooter something I keep mistaking this and that for.
Speak of the devil, I just watched a documentary about DOOM this afternoon.

FPP + shooter = FPS ;)
I'd rather have it this way. One should be able to search for games with a particular view perspective without having to differentiate between action/shooter and...well, not-action. The only problem I have with GOG's "genre" tag system is that it only allows up to three per game.

Yeah, you don't get it. If you search for "Shooter" games, you get many (mostly) that aren't first person. If you search FPP, you get games like Myst and other non shooter games. FPS isn't some new term.
