Riding the intergalactic highway.

Master of Orion: Collector's Edition, the glorious return of the legendary 4X strategy, is available now, DRM-free on GOG.com. Owners of any of the previous installments get a permanent 5% discount.

Most strategy-inclined kids have at some point in their lives dreamt of becoming the true Master of Orion. To conquer a whole galaxy through sly negotiations, intense technological research, or even all-out war. Now the dream is coming back to life, as you will once again ride your customizable ship(s) and throw yourself at a vast network of almost 100 solar systems, populated by the alien races that franchise veterans fell in love with.

Developers NGD Studios have already enlisted a star-studded cast of acclaimed voice-actors to breathe life into these characters and make interactions as fun as the addictive gameplay that players have come to expect from a true Master of Orion successor. Currently, the game includes six out of the ten alien races and several features (like certain victory conditions) will remain unavailable, as the developers aim to keep polishing the game with the help of their community.

Engage in interstellar warfare and limitless exploration in the vivid new Master of Orion: Collector's Edition, DRM-free on GOG.com. This edition includes the three vintage Master of Orion games and eventually it will also feature a wonderful Digital Art Book, the game's orchestral soundtrack, an additional race, and more. Those who already own any of the original Master of Orion games on GOG.com, get a permanent 5% discount.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Tuttle757: Can they Clarify will this have Turn Based Combat? Or are they trying to go Liberace and make it Real Time.
Spacelanes and Real-Time combat, just like in MoO3.

Neither is bad in of itself, but the RTS needs a lot of work, right now almost zero control, spacelanes are kinda cool, but there's a problem with late-game movement, engines aren't working correctly so you can't go any faster late game.

InDev = buggy unfortunately.
I am sorry...I really don't trust Wargaming to do something better than MOO3 (don't think they will equal the first two in any way)

It needs some serious work between now and release, but they seem to be aware of the problems.
Ah, I had a feeling this would appear in early access here. Definitely interested but will wait till the price drops down.

Also it seems that Wargaming copied the realtime combat from Stardrive 2 which is quite nice but its very toned down and oversimplified.

Unfortunately, ya lost me at real-time combat. :(

AlienMind: GOG should make a cooldown for 6 hours after release for nobody being able to post reviews, because they clearly have not played the full game yet.

WMDMaster: Full game? The game is not full. It's work in progress.

Oh but the price is full...
Ouch. Yes indeed. VERY expensive. Some indevelopment games are VERY expensive. Over $50 :(
Wishlisted for now and I shall wait until it is under $13-15

5% off ? Goodness that is a little stingy really. 10% at least 5% is practically nothing :( I have all the previous ones.
This version comes with all the previous ones.

GoG says this is turn based, anyone know if it is or not ? Some people here said it is real time combat so is it turn based or real time ?

That would make me sad, the only comfort I have with these posts is that at least he wastes some of his time re-typing it :)
Normally I would say more space games = good but not so sure about this one.

Anyone compare this to MoO3 and FreeOrion (which also have space lanes)?
