A new breed of space game.

EVERSPACE™, an intense roguelike space shooter is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com. Its price during In Development is 25% lower than it will be once the game gets fully released.

Everything in EVERSPACE™ is meant to be spectacular. It presents a vision of space a far cry from the desolate expanses we're so used to – instead, offering up beauty that's hard to match, tons of surprises, and easy-to-pick-up action gameplay worthy of the coolness we expect from space combat.

With feedback from 10,000 testers in the closed beta, the project has already seen its share of improvements – including a significant content update for its launch in development. Still, ROCKFISH Games already have a plan for new content (including new ships, layers, and fully voice-acted non-linear story) and updates all the way up until the release. For a closer look at the development process, check out the recently-gone-public Beta forums on the developer's website.

Discover a procedurally generated, roguelike galaxy unlike any other in EVERSPACE™, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Watch the trailer.

Been watching SplatterCat play this and looks great. I have to lol at the person who complains a game that intends to be roguelike/lite is 'too difficult'.
Will pick it up as soon as I figure some things out.

blotunga: To bad I suck at space sims. The only one I managed halfway was the X-Series, but those I play mostly for the other fluff. I'll put this on the watchlist though.
Btw this looks extremely difficult. Is there some save system, because i hate games where you have to restart every time you die.
It's not a space sim, and the controls are more arcade-like. You'd have no trouble flying this one :)

skeletonbow: .. No Man's Sky ultra-disaster..
You seem to be of the impression that this game did not sell like hot cakes and overall was a great sale success.

Again, does any1 know if you can save and load normally in this game?

skeletonbow: Wow, GOG is super brave! After the No Man's Sky ultra-disaster they're still comfortable to consider procedurally generated space games?
:)
Im curious...what happened in regards with NMS? (aside from the silly pricing) ?

I couldn't sum it up any better than tarasis above. :)

Thanks for that. Im stunned and shocked. Definitely not worthy of the $$$ bandied around if all that is true *dodged a bullet*

It's all true and then some. Just ask anyone who has watched all of the promotional videos, interviews and even just the game trailers that are shown on Steam and GOG. Half the stuff shown in the trailers is not ever anywhere in the game, as the trailers are taken from some ancient build and not the finished product. It will no doubt win one more "best" award in the future... "Best dissappointment of the year." but probably more similar awards as well.

Hopefully Everspace does better, it looks more interesting than what NMS actually ended up to be anyway, as does that Event[0] game.

IAmSinistar: Checked out the video and it reminds me of this game. Hope it's better balanced, though.
My first thought too. Do wonder how much depth the game will have (visuals look very nice!)
So is it the roguelike that makes it a "new breed of space game"?

I absolutely LOVE this guy.

I'm not big into the "Let's Play" scene and don't know the big players, but I'll occasionally do a youtube video search for a game if I think it looks particularly interesting but was off my radar. That way I can get a sense of what it's like and if it'd be my cup of tea.

I've hit on this guy's videos several times and his gameplay chatter and information is fantastic. Really, really good stuff.

Would be great to see him hook up with GoG.
Linux version is supposedly coming by the end of September.

Vainamoinen: He's right though. The in development badge should be on the front page, and it isn't. It looks like a fairly interesting game, it's just that it isn't "released" today, and customers should know.
Well, according to GOGs game card the game has been released yesterday: "Released: September 14, 2016". ;)
How close to descent: freespace is this game ._.

i like freespace
