A new breed of space game.

<span class="bold">EVERSPACE&trade;</span>, an intense roguelike space shooter is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com. Its price during In Development is 25% lower than it will be once the game gets fully released.

Everything in EVERSPACE™ is meant to be spectacular. It presents a vision of space a far cry from the desolate expanses we're so used to – instead, offering up beauty that's hard to match, tons of surprises, and easy-to-pick-up action gameplay worthy of the coolness we expect from space combat.

With feedback from 10,000 testers in the closed beta, the project has already seen its share of improvements – including a significant content update for its launch in development. Still, ROCKFISH Games already have a plan for new content (including new ships, layers, and fully voice-acted non-linear story) and updates all the way up until the release. For a closer look at the development process, check out the recently-gone-public Beta forums on the developer's website.

Discover a procedurally generated, roguelike galaxy unlike any other in <span class="bold">EVERSPACE&trade;</span>, DRM-free on GOG.com!

Waiting for m gog code from developers but looks great and cant wait to play this.
Hmmm

Unfinished Sky was sold as completely finished FULL-priced product.

at least this is marked as unfinished :)
I do like a good space game. Will refrain until it's finished, but a welcome title here if it fulfills its potential!

lazydog: where on the gog homepage does it state that this game is in development?

Honestly, I have more important things to do than click on a release to then discover the full game does not exist.
Dude, if your schedule is so packed that 5 seconds upsets your whole life you really need to rearrange it. :-)

He's right though. The in development badge should be on the front page, and it isn't. It looks like a fairly interesting game, it's just that it isn't "released" today, and customers should know.

Regarding rogue-like features, extent/functionality of the present game and planned future features, is there any source I can look up that was neither written by overenthusiastic backers nor the inevitable dereksmartasses...?
Checked out the video and it reminds me of this game. Hope it's better balanced, though.
Wow, GOG is super brave! After the No Man's Sky ultra-disaster they're still comfortable to consider procedurally generated space games?
:)

The "In Dev" tag is everywhere you look at the icon for the game, it's listed on the news post, and it's on the game page when you click on it. The little "In Dev", orange icon next to the game icon is striking and unmistakable, it's pretty well labelled that it's in development.
To bad I suck at space sims. The only one I managed halfway was the X-Series, but those I play mostly for the other fluff. I'll put this on the watchlist though.
Btw this looks extremely difficult. Is there some save system, because i hate games where you have to restart every time you die.

I see No, Sean, you lied has already been forgotten—not that it's a bad thing! :P
This is still wishlisted until it's finally in a finished state. It has that arcadey feel to it, which might put off many but could end up being quite good.

And GOG really should consider disabling reviews of "in dev" games. At least prevent reviewers giving it a rating.
That fake discount. It's the same price as on Steam.
I am very worried about this game.

After watching the videos here and elsewhere online, Everspace looks very pretty indeed, but also like it might become boring after an hour or two. Flying around and shooting things is all well and good, but where is the longevity and variety?

I'm sorry, but i am just not prepared to invest £25 on an alpha state game that could lose it's appeal rather quickly.

Yes, well spotted.

Cool logo and the game looks great but I'll wait until it has been released and properly reviewed.

In the meantime:
Thank you for all you people who are brave enough to take the plunge and order in the Early Access, uhm, ... In Development period.
You are alpha/ beta testing the game for free (from the developers' point of view that is).
On the other hand, you'll be at the cradle of a game-to-be and might even influence the maturing of the game if the developer stays in close contact with you.
This can be an incredible experience as I know by having backed almost a hundred games on Kickstarter now.
Mind you, many of these games haven't produced any status update in months, Let that serve as a warning for anyone considering backing a project on KS.
Question: Does the GOG version have the partial VR (Vive) support? Or will I need the Steam version for that?

Trying to decide if I'll use my KS key on GOG or Steam.
