In the name of the queen.

Empires of the Undergrowth is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
These ants are truly marvelous creatures. Operating as an astonishingly coordinated hive-mind, they are able to build giant colonies, assimilate certain traits of other ants species, and overpower larger insects to protect their nest. As the manager of an industrious formicarium, you will orchestrate all these activities in real-time, watching your colony thrive with each successful mission.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: This is an interesting concept, but I think they should add cockroaches & spiders as playable factions too.
Spiders would be boring. Ants are always working so there is always something to do. With a spider, once the web is done, that's it, you just sit there.

Am I putting too much thought into this? :P

krugos2: Indeed! Can you imagine what an ant simulator will look like 27 years from now?
I'd rather not...creepy stuff, these photorealistic ant attacks, while wearing a full-body-VR-sensor-suit.

;)

Ah, someone has never played "Deadly Creatures" on the Wii, I guess:

Those spider levels are fucking awesome (the scorpion levels unfortunately suck in comparison - well, in my eyes, at least)

Would adding spiders technically make it a web developer sim?

It currently doesn't have one but they are working on it.

Finally Sim Ants gets a modern update. I'll be following this game closely (I'll keep my magnifying glass away from the sunlight, lol).
This has my interest. I'll keep a very high interest on it. Wishlisted~
Sweet really glad to see this here
I wonder if it can be modded to make the ants giant, invade Los Angeles, and then be destroyed by James Arness.
