In the name of the queen.

Empires of the Undergrowth is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com.
These ants are truly marvelous creatures. Operating as an astonishingly coordinated hive-mind, they are able to build giant colonies, assimilate certain traits of other ants species, and overpower larger insects to protect their nest. As the manager of an industrious formicarium, you will orchestrate all these activities in real-time, watching your colony thrive with each successful mission.

I've been following this game on Reddit.
So promising. Congrats to the developer.

COOOOOL!!!!
I always wanted SimAnt as a kid. This is probably pretty different, but I'll see how it shapes up.
Nice! I Kickstarted this and I'm glad to see that GOG's not going to be a 2nd class citizen like most of them treat us.

So you've played it?

No. I don't play games until release -- often not until after a few patches even; early experiences lessen the final experience to me. It was just a super-early preorder to me

I'm the same way. I learned that from ugly past experiences. What I would like to know is if there is a sandbox in addition to the missions mentioned on the page.
what a great idea for a strategy game, wishlisted

Looks like it has a lot of bugs.
That actually looks pretty good. Especially for me since I have spent my youth (2-14 years old) watching ants building/upgrading their holes, carrying food/rocks, fight each other and other insects for hours under the sun.
Yeah...SimAnt 2.0

What a difference 27 years make.

This is an interesting concept, but I think they should add cockroaches & spiders as playable factions too.

BreOl72: Yeah...SimAnt 2.0
That's what I thought too, lol. I loved SimAnt, wish it was available on GOG.

Indeed! Can you imagine what an ant simulator will look like 27 years from now?
