Ghost in the cell.

Dead Cells is now available, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 25% discount until November 20, 2PM UTC.
Roguelite? Metroidvania? This is RogueVania: progressive exploration, replayability, and the adrenaline pumping threat of permadeath; but it's YOUR own ability that matters the most!
Freeze, zap, pierce or fireball your enemies as you expertly swerve around them to reach the next impossible boss.
Akin to its protagonist, the game is constantly evolving and has just received its biggest update yet, exclusive to GOG for the next 24 hours.

Make sure to grab its atmospheric Soundtrack separately.

Hell yeah. I love this game. It is incredible for a roguelite with some really nice features. Question, will the leaderboards be crossplay, or am I wasting my time to get this here when I have it on Steam already?
Great game highly recommended, though now I wish I had waited and bought it here instead of steam, if I only knew. Oh well.
I despise rogue shite, but I applaud the devs for doing right by us and releasing it here DRM free! But it sucks that gorgeous pixel art games are crippled with over-repetitive recycled gameplay... If you made permadeath optional this game would be epic!

tl;dr: Good luck and thanks to the devs in helping make this site more successful, sucks that I won't be getting this game due to the permadeath mechanic!

I would snag it again when it's fully released here if it were me!...And if I loved rogue-likes that is!

Looks interesting. Wishlisted.
"metroidvania" and "roguelike" are kind of opposites. Part of what makes a "metroidvania" is very carefully, perfectly, hand-crafted level design...
Oooh, cool. Wishlisted.

I dunno, I heard this game was supposed to be quite good. It has very positive reviews over on Steam.

Well, Sundered is also a mix of both and is a great game. It is not an easy formula, but it is possible. I will give this a try.

Roguelike, pixellated, procedurally generated, blah blah blah.
Great game. Too bad I bought it on steam months ago. I would've preferred to buy it on GoG.

Hey yeah it's cross-platform. You'll see scores from Steam and wherever else we release the game as well as your GoG scores. The only thing is that the two platforms must be on the same version.

So here, Steam doesn't yet have the new version that is on GoG, so you won't see all the scores until we update Steam tomorrow.

Cheers,

Steve.

Great, yet another game which is not even remotely roguelike classified by GoG as a roguelike. Second Metroidvania game in a row that does this, in fact. I'd really like to know why developers since the mid-2000s decided to mark pretty much any game as a roguelike, like it was on some sort of checklist. I guess when enough roguelike fans criticized them for it, they changed it to "roguelite", which still uses "rogue" even though it has virtually nothing in common with what made rogue what it was, so why retain the name?

Note that what I'm complaining about here is not the devs liberally using "rogue" in their advertising materials (even though that annoys me a great deal as well), it's GoG classifying the game as "Action - Adventure - Roguelike". I guess I foolishly expect GoG to know better.

Hey, your game looks awesome! Getting some serious Rogue Legacy vibes, plus that pixel art looks just fantastic.

So do you have a loose timeframe in mind for the 1.0 release of the game?
