Ashes of the Singularity, a vastly ambitious RTS of clashing transhuman armies, is available now DRM-free on GOG.com with GOG Galaxy support and a 25% launch discount.

Was relying on A.I.s to transcend our biological limitations ever going to end well? Sure, post-humans may have used their unprecedented potential to conquer space, transform the planet, and achieve feats once thought unimaginable. But the greedy, manipulative human nature apparently transcends all. And once triumphs over technology and space became commonplace, so did the war for ultimate supremacy.

It is fitting that a game dealing with the aftereffects of technological overreliance would utilise a multi-core A.I. that can simulate the challenge posed by (trans)human opponents in an awe-inspiring way. Developers Stardock are extremely proud of their A.I. engine but also of the sprawling maps over which the players' super-detailed units will do battle. And while they keep themselves busy implementing community feedback regarding gameplay mechanics and balancing, they still aim to eventually add more playable factions, game modes, global abilities, and the single-player Ascendancy War.

Transcend the constraints of human nature and emerge victorious from the Ashes of the Singularity, DRM-free on GOG.com. The 25% discount will last until February 2, 1:59 PM GMT.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

Those specs are intense. They'll be prohibitively high for many, but it's good to see PC games that are truly meant to take advantage of the superior hardware that PCs offer. At that price, especially for an early access game, I'll need to do some research, but it looks really, really promising.
Overpriced , overhyped techdemo .
Why is this so expensive on here. Yeah the discount is good, but the base price is even higher than the one on steam. On here it's 54,49 and on steam it's 49,99. And the "fair price compensation" is only 3,49. So apparently GoG with price compensation is now still more expensive than Steam without.
Ah, I still remember when GoG used to be the cheaper alternative with fair pricing. Good times...

Are you comparing euros to euros or dolares to euros? because for me, both gog and steam show the same base price in euros (49,99). I do see the dólar price here as 54.49.

Oh, you're right. I am used to websites using the regional currency even when viewed in english, but guess that doesn't work for gog.
Sorry, my bad.

You can change the currency to € from the main page or your settings if you so prefer.
I'll just drop this here:

gog.com/forum/ashes_of_the_singularity/forcing_gog_galaxy_multiplayer_between_steam_and_galaxy_updates/post5

TL;DR: Why would I buy it here if I can't MP with friends on Steam? Why would you require Galaxy for MP, when it is marketed as "fully optional"? MP is not "fully optional" for an RTS in early dev with no campaign. This is a serious stretch of "DRM Free", GOG.

I will keep an eye on this one
looks promising but I'll stay clear of pre-order. I'll keep an eye out for how this matures.
C'mon, Stardockers! To make games like Chris Taylor did you should BE Chris Taylor, and not ape him...
"We definitely asked for this."

If you don't rehire Trevor quickly GOG is going to collapse under the weight of its own terrible blurbs. Trevor never wrote bad blurbs.
Showstopper. GOG, you have 14 days to fix this shit before I refund.
What a bunch of douchebags.sorry.
I guess its important for all buyers that wan't to buy this for multiplayer that this game has no Crossplay support (nothing planned at the moment) which means that multiplayer is limited to galaxy client users only and does not allow crossconection with Steam. So if you are interested in more then just singleplayer then you can forget this game.
Well, it sure is pretty, but another one to hold off on until complete. Also...

Ashes of the Singularity requires a minimum of 4-cores on your CPU

Wow. Isn't this kind of crossing over from "game AI" into "AI that tries to seize control of the world's military and subjugate the hu-man"?
