<span class="bold">Airships: Conquer the Skies</span>, a strategy game where you design and build your own airworthy vessels out of thin pixels, is now available for Windows, Mac, and Linux, DRM-free on GOG.com, with a 15% discount.

Did you have your dreams of becoming a pilot or a mad inventor crashed under the weight of reality? It's payback time! Build any ship you can imagine pixel by pixel and launch a campaign to conquer the unsuspecting world! Then watch it crash and burn in excruciatingly realistic fashion and build another one. The side-slice view on your creations will let you monitor all their inner workings as well as your crew's movements, while you fly around or do battle against other elaborate machines. Although the game is still In Development, all the core building and combat mechanics are already in place. Until its release, however, developer David Stark plans to add an extended strategic conquest mode, as well as the option to build land-ships with wheels, and to face dragons or other airborne menaces.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure I like the execution. Will keep an eye out though.

It seems that now the quasi-retro-pixel-fashion-shitty graphics is the universal excuse for releasing any kind of crap.

I'm a fool for this stuff but I got odds on the fact I can't even get something off the ground. :P

On a side note, the game mentions severe pixelation but when I saw those screen shots I thought they were actual pictures of the real Canadian Air Force.

Better "quasi-retro-fashion graphics" (which I like anyway) with actual enjoyable gameplay, than ultra-realistic-4K-textures-post-processing-vr flops with boring or no gameplay at all.

Sounds interesting.. but looks a bit blocky. Are all the airships really just rectangular as the screenshots suggest? :/

Both the title and logo so uninspired and the graphics so awful that I don't think I'd bother buying this game. This game needs a complete overhaul. Maybe they can change things in this "in development" phase but I don't expect a radical change anytime soon.
