Impossible Creatures was a truly crazy-ass RTS!

Like Spore, this game had some really fun sandboxy creature construction, but unlike Spore, this one was actually a GAME!

Hopefully the GOG release will be priced the same as the Steam version.
This looks like a nice game. But how does the player "create" new creatures? Can he choose what traits it gets from each "parent"?
Crossing fingers for it for gog.

It's been many many years since I played it, but as far as I recall, each unit consists of a front, middle and back. Each can come from any species you have found/unlocked, so each creature can incorporate traits from up to three different animals. Different parts have different traits and production costs.
Can I mix three creatures, then? And how does a tail or middle section of an animal affect the results? Are all animals compatible?

I'm sorry if I have too many questions... :-)
Really hoping that I.C. makes it's way onto GOG, if they wen't through the trouble of bringing it to Steam, they have to be thinking of GOG as well. Hopefully they see the support coming from the community to bring it here as well.
Yay! They added it to GOG! :D
I wonder if Insect Invasion is added as well though?

Grargar: It is.
Is insect invasion the original game plus the added stuff or separate? What I mean is with a game like Titan Quest, when you added the expansion, you just played the entire game as one unlike the C&C games which separates the expansions.

Insect Invasion is a mod that adds extra stuff to the game. It should be selectable from the mod selection menu. At least, according to Judas.

It's there, I was just wondering if I should play the regular game and then that.

There is actually two mods on there.

I'll see if I can't get a screenshot in Linux because the Ctrl+PrintScreen function in Windows would not capture the game's screen, possibly due to how the game is actually rendered in Windows :)

Yup. Play the regular game and then Insect Invasion.
