After having Heroes Chronicles sitting there unbundled with 8 installers which were no use to me in such a state I had decided to get the game removed from my library by gog support. Will rebuy it when gog offers it again in a bundled state next to all the separate installers.

I'm far beyond the refund period, so I'll leave it as-is, but I'll make some extra copies of the pre-unbundled installer I've backed up on DVD+R and stick with those.

That's a pretty strange move in my eyes. By doing that you somehow reward them for messing up (because you will pay twice for the same game). Wouldn't it be better to hide the eight installers untill the issue is resolved?

Same here, normally I want my backups do match GoG's library (it's easier to notice missing entries from the user library this way), but stopped doing this with the unbundling mess at some point and stick to my old bundles installers.

The issue as such won't be resolved. I asked them for bundled installers for which I paid several times already and the response was we don't and won't support bundled installers in the future. As such the issue for me is closed and the above game in such state unusable for me.

Thank goodness I still have a whole bunch of v1 bundled installers on my external HD. Cause Heroes Chronicles (and some others) are just messed up.

Still, it is good that things are starting to move forward on this front.

Ciris: To reply to most of the comments posted between my last post and now:

We have no way to set which game comes before which in a series so the system understands - so they'll be alphabetically - BUT, after the new "My Account" is launched (which is the major update I mentioned in my former post), we'll be introducting new ways to arrange your games.
.
You don't have a separate sort title for games, where basically they have a name (Not displayed) that the engine can use for sorting. Then you just make the sort name Ultima_01, Ultima_02, etc down the line and the display name stays as Ultima, Ultima II, etc. That's a pretty simple function and should probably be used for simplicity sake.
Bought Downfall & Ishar Compilation from the weekend promo and when my shelf is sorted by purchase date Downfall is right in the middle of the unbundled Ishar titles. Have to laugh at that.

...which is a stupid justification given that unbundling Heroes Chronicles is like providing a separate installer for each episode of the full version of Doom 2. It's one game that, for promotional reasons, was sold in pieces.

TrevorWilliams: I wish I was as optimistic as some of you. I'm pretty sure that most companies real decision makers (despite press release verbiage and a couple great blue typers) care absolutely nothing about a small handful of complainers on a forum. They'll update their database/servers/whatever in whatever way best works for their business plan and thinking long term won't care about a short term hit of a few deserters.
I don't think that anyone of us here is naive enough to think they're actually listening to us, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't and can't voice our views, thoughts, suggestions, disagreements, etc.
And if things come to that, we shouldn't and won't leave in silence.

Exactly. This is precisely the kind of poor decision that no amount of custom shelving or dedicated clients will address. This should be a single installer, PERIOD.

Agreed. Unbundling episodic games and expansions is insane.

But they did it "following your many requests". Does it mean we are insane?
It would explain a lot of things in my case.

A distinct possibly, since I myself am all 17 people who asked for this.
So, how does one remember to never buy Heroes Chronicles from here?
They should implement a sh**list in addition to the wishlist ..
