silalus: Interesting, by the way, that there have now been more posts on this subject than there have been posts in the Galaxy testing thread.
Unlike the unbundling, participating in the Galaxy beta is a choice.
I wonder why two worlds II epic edition is seperated into the velvet edition and castle defense and not into the original game, pirates of the flying fortress and castle defense. While the whole cossacks anthology bundle is seperated into cossacks, the art of war and back to war.
And i guess dlc's aren't seperated, cause the first two world is still the epic edition. I'm happy with that deciscion, otherwise it would become a mess.
Not sure if i like the deciscion of unbundling stuff, though in some cases it could be usefull.
However, some bundles better stay in that way, like episodic games or remastered ones. I do hope that King's Bounty Crossworlds ain't unbundled as that would be unlogical. Crossworld is just a remastered version of armored princess plus a few extra scenarios.
I also wonder if the store page of that game is fixed as well. For example; Cognition is divided into 4 episodes, but if you click on the link to go to the store (for example for episode 1) you get nothing.

Ciris: This means more convenient downloads, smaller downloads if you just want to get one game, better representation of the games on your shelf, and being able to toggle installing and auto-updating titles from such a bundle in GOG Galaxy individually (should you decide use the client in the future once it's released).
I'm sure this has been said somewhere in 73 pages, but it's also slightly less convenient with potentially larger downloads in a way due to the bonus content being duplicated per title. Here's an example: Might and Magic 1-6 are sold as a bundle but separated for download per title. However, the manuals are still bundled (and duplicated) per title, as are the FLAC soundtracks. Go to download Might and Magic 6 and the soundtrack for Might and Magic 4 shows up under the bonus content, which makes no sense.

The first thing I do when I buy a title is to download everything associated as a backup. In the past, I simply selected from my shelf what I purchased, then downloaded everything under it. Now, I have to pay attention to what I have already downloaded, and even then I'm not sure if it's duplicated or not. For example, I know Might and Magic 1-6 were part of a bundle so the bonus content is duplicated. However, when I first downloaded the files for Heroes of Might and Magic V + Hammers of Fate and Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East, I did not know if the bonus content was genuinely duplicated or not. Hence, I downloaded 900 MB of FLAC and almost 400 MB of MP3s twice! Less convenient, larger downloads.

We really should have a way to view the games as part of a bundle we purchased, maybe something like a "bundled" title with an expansion to show what's included. For example, shelf title shows "Might and Magic 6-pack Limited Edition" with a "+" button to expand. Select the title and it shows all the extras bundled. Select the "+" and it expands to show individual titles of Might and Magic 1-6. Select an individual Might and Magic title, then it shows the appropriate downloads for the game files. If we can't have this, it would make much more sense "unbundle" the bonus content as well and tie individual pieces to the appropriate title.

Today is Sunday, April 12, 2015.

The full unbundling has begun 27 days ago and has apparently not ended yet, leaving the library in a half-broken state (no update notifications, no links to game pages/forums for unbundled games, broken file links, even more product_bonuses, etc.).

A blue has not posted in this thread in the last 25 days (post #631, i.e. 830 posts ago).

GOG, to assist you:
- Here is the list of most of the issues raised in this thread. A few more issues have been raised after I had posted that list, but given your overwhelming response, I did not collect them. I will gladly do so if you want me to.
- Here is the list of those you have already fixed, AFAIK.
- And in case you are not reading this thread (it might not be your "favourite topic", after all), I also left you a message here.
A wild Myst: Masterpiece Edition has appeared on my library. I never bought it, and it's near the end of the list, so it's new. I haven't checked my library in a month or two. Did I miss something, or could it somehow be related to this unbundling?

I don't believe it's related to the unbundling. This game was not among those unbundled, nor was it planned to be.
Look at the purchase date. Perhaps it'll ring a bell.

Ciris: Hi, guys!

Following your many requests and in connection with preparing game libraries better for GOG Galaxy, we’re going to be starting what we’re calling unbundling games.

This means that multiple games that are bundled as one “product” (for instance: Tomb Raider 1+2+3) will no longer appear as one title on your game shelf, but rather - be split into individual items. This means more convenient downloads, smaller downloads if you just want to get one game, better representation of the games on your shelf, and being able to toggle installing and auto-updating titles from such a bundle in GOG Galaxy individually (should you decide use the client in the future once it's released).

Such bundles won't be unbundled in the store, so no price changes will happen - it's just a different way to display them on your shelf, which will make things easier for you and future software.

In the first "run" of such unbundlings - tomorrow - we'll take on two shelved items: Alien Breed + Tower Assault and American McGee's Grimm. Starting next Tuesday, we'll move on to unbundling all games in our library and this process will take a week. Before this process ends, you may still see some items on your shelf stay in bundles, but don't worry, their time will come as well and your game shelf will be neat once again. :)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we'll do our best to answer them. We’re also awaiting your feedback in terms of how unbundling went for your games - we’ll be following this thread, so keep us informed of any issues!

[EDIT] full list of games: HERE
This is great, mostly just looking forward to when Galaxy's release :D

Perhaps we should post messages to them in the gog galaxy thread. There are at least four to five blues posting there, probably the best chance to ever get an answer.
MAX 1 +2 hasn't been unbundled yet? Did it get forgotten about?

Fever_Discordia: MAX 1 +2 hasn't been unbundled yet? Did it get forgotten about?
They kind of, sort of, maybe, stopped the unbundling after the fracas they caused with the first wave. There are a couple of games still waiting for unbundling, but as mrkgnao has been pointing out, they have been forgetting about this thread for almost a month now.

Hmm but then they're giving themselves a pat on the back for having 1000 game boxes in the catalog when a good proportion of those boxes have come from the unbundling process...
Marketing not talking to technical?

That is not true. The unbundling is only on our shelfs/libraries. In the shop the games are still sold in the same bundles as before and the pat on the back was for the 1000 games on the shop page.

That's a good idea to try.

Oh yes, so you're right, sorry I thought they were specifically saying "1000 DIGITAL BOXES" to mean boxes on your game shelf...
