trusteft: So i have to install every potential problematic game to see what is actually included? You see the problem with that, right?

Anyway, I would be far more upset if I didn't recently (before the unbundling) finished bucking up all my gog games.
But I hope they finish the unbundling ASAP and do it the right way.
Well, i would strongly suggest to write to the support, because you have a point there :

what's it's advertised in the gamecard isn't properly displayed in the shelf ; i checked the OP , there's a link to the list with the bundles of games affected and their respectives names after the unbundling (still in progress).

and Ultima VII Silver Seed isn't mentionned....

so if you can't wait, you can still test all old bundles which have an issue -_-

and for the record unbundling this package was stupid (how it's presented in customer account library); i remember to have this somewhere :

badjim: I can see why the downloads were unbundled, as neither we nor GOG benefit from being forced to download games we don't want to play in order to play the one we do.
Instead we now benefit from downloading even more bundled copies of dosemu and scummvm files and redundantly added extras in each of the unbundled games.

You might want to read this to understand why some of us were never "forced to download games we don't want to play in order to play the one we do", as you implicitly assume everyone had been.

Quizblorg: Both Amnesia games have (sneakily) got the Linux version last week:

Has Amnesia: The Dark Descent been unbundled (the package has a DLC included)? Or is it still the same as it was before the unbundling has started?

I just have seen that I have missed the Linux version and also the German language version of that game. I really hate this mess. Who knows how many other game updates and versions I already have missed ...

Amnesia is nowhere in the list of games to be unbundled.
Has GOG started to listen? Is there some re-bundling in progress?

My game library has 71 games less than yesterday. I have no clue how you are supposed to control the content of your game library in the future without using the yet so optional client.

Thanks Grargar! So I at least can download the new installers for that game.

Still unbundled here.

They are back in my shelf too now (I think). But I still have no clue how many games are supposed to be in my game shelf. And I see no way to get this number anywhere from GOGs web interface. Or is there any?

PaterAlf: I tried some stuff about the broken shelf sorting. The number of games that no longer will allow manual sorting is 627. As long as you have 626 games or less in your library, you can sort the games just fine. When you have more games you can still sort them, but the sorting won't be saved once you leave the shelf.

For some strange reasons only visible games count. You can hide some games to bring down the count to 626 and everything will work again. Unfortunately it's still not possible to completely sort the library using this trick. When you unhide games again, they won't show up at the exact spot they were before you hid them (mostly they are some boxes away).

Think I will send a message to support about the problem, but somehow I doubt they will fix it.
Huh... What a random seeming number. Maybe they're big Lilo and Stitch fans?

dosbox, not dosemu.

You'll want to be careful about that because "dosemu" does exist, but it's quite different. (It only runs on x86 or x86-64 Linux and, if DOSBox is VMWare, then DOSEMU is Wine.)

BranjoHello: What's this for?
Did you GOG stuff guys got bored or something?

I can understand unbundling titles like Cultures 1&2, but WHY the hell would you unbundle tiles like Heroes Chornichles, it's a complete mess now!?!

In Galaxy having games unbundled like this is preferred but on the library shelf it's not in my opinion.
I hope the shelf will still be alive when Galaxy comes so that we can use Galaxy for playing and Shelf for back ups.
Well put, this is retarded. GOG has been doing nonsense for some time already.. Unnecessary movies, unnecessary greyish look, and now this ultra-unnecessary unbundling. If it's for the upcoming Galaxy, it could have been done much more professionally. I'm sorry to say this but they should learn something from Steam.

I know they both exist, that's why I regularly mix up the names. Of course I meant dosbox. :)
I like this, thanks ^^
In principle this could work, but only if the names of things were always GAME NAME: PART, or GAME NAME: SEQUEL NAME, so that all related games stayed together. Currently some of mine seem to be split up. Even when they are near each other I can't tell which game comes first without going off and searching, e.g. Eador: Masters, or Eador: Genesis (the second one sounds like it would be the first game). Ones that do work well are Ishar, Ishar 2, Ishar 3.

The ordering of games in some series isn't working - Drod comes after Drod 2 and Drod 3 on the shelf.

I am also seeing things in my game list I don't recognise, such as "CRYSTALS OF ARBOREA" - clicking on the game gives me files to download but the game name is not a link to a store page that tells me more about it, meaning I'll have to Google the game name to find out if it is part of a series, and which games come first.

Actually, that seems to be standard for the unbundled games - the game name doesn't go to a store page, it isn't a link at all e.g. HEROES CHRONICLES [CHAPTER 1] - WARLORDS OF THE WASTELAND. I can't tell if the Heroes Chronicles games (8 on my shelf now) are related to Heroes of Annihiliated Empires, and if so, should I play them first or after HoAE (since they are listed before it on my shelf, suggesting they came out first).

I have three Tropico games - one has an image called Tropico Pirate Cove, but clicking on it gives the name Tropico 2 (btu again, doesn't link to a store page). There are other examples. So is Tropico Pirate Cove the middle game in the trilogy, or a spin-off of 1 or 3?

To summarise, I think my issue is that:

1> Unbundled games should all be next to each other on the shelf (even if that involves renaming them after the game the relate to), and in the order they were released. Otherwise, looking at my shelf of over 100 unplayed games, many bought years ago and with no rememberance of why I bought it or what games it relates to, I feel like I have to do research to make sure I am playing a game in order. What was simple before becomes a chore.

2> Unbundled games should still link to the store page/description when you click on it, to help with identifying what bundle it came in, and what order to play things in. Since clicking on a game image only shows you the download files, we need _something_ else to identify if this is a standalone game or part of a bundle/series, and what the game is about. It doesn't help to click in the image and just see "windows installer" "manual" etc.

My conclusion: I don't mind the games being unbundled though I was happy with it as it used to be, and probably would have preferred it to stay that way, so that the way I buy it is the same way it appears on the shelves, instead of a single purchase blooming into many fragments. Still, if something could be tweaked to help with 1 and 2 above, so individual games in a series weren't broken up and leaving me confused as to what to play first, that would help. (Or just an option to disable the unbundling).

---[A few days later]
AARGH! I just went to download some unbundled games such as Starflight 1 and 2. Downloaded everything for both games, put them in separate folders - then found that I had downloaded everything twice unnecessarily, because even though there are two entries on my shelf now, one for each game, the actual files you download are identical. That's just a mess and a waste of time.

If I remember correctly, there will be "achievements" for GOG Galaxy. Is this true?

Also, Humble Bundle has been known to release STEAM versions of their games which I think is handy for people who are into achievements, are there any plans to release GOG GALAXY versions for Humble Bundle games? If ever, that will be great. DRM FREE plus achievements, the best of both worlds.
