I was just thinking how much I'd like to see at least some of the games based on Lord of the Rings here (Battle for Middle-Earth, War of the Ring, Lego LotR), and that got me thinking on some other games based on books or movies or comics that are still entirely absent from GOG.

So, in addition to LotR none of the Dune games are here. Not one of the Discworld adventure games. Nothing with any of the Marvel superheroes (we at least have Lego Batman from DC). What else is entirely absent?
Mad Max
Blade Runner

The Thing

I might be interested in trying that Wheel of Time FPS using the Unreal Engine. I don't know if I'd be interested in paying money for it though - I hear it wasn't all that.
The Beavis and Butt-Head licensed Windows 95 games "Beavis and Butt-Head in Virtual Stupidity", "Beavis and Butt-Head: Bunghole in One" and "Beavis and Butt-Head Do U."
Have you seen the Wishlist entries for:

Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Rings

Sierra's Hobbit adventure game

Really wish they would bring out more LOTR adventure games. After the Fellowship adventure game, there's just hack & slash. ) :
The Batman Arkham games would be an awesome addition too! It's one of my favorite game series and it totally deserves to be released here!

I agree, we will likely see the first in around 15years.

DampSquib: Blade Runner
It's too bad we'll likely never see that released here, great game.

I had to chuckle a bit when they are discussing the possible sequel on wikipedia. In 2009 they shopped a sequel to Gearbox, who estimated the cost at $35 million dollars. Maybe they should have tried a slightly less greedy development house...

What the fuck do you need 35 million for to make an adventure game?! And why would anyone want Gearbox to make an adventure game anyway? I mean, it's freaking Gearbox. Love them or hate them, they make FPSes. That's all they do.

I had it. It wasn't lore friendly, nor was it very good. First person puzzles using limited charges from "terangreal" which seemed to miss the real point of the books as well as just be an annoying ammunition control game feature.

Ah well, nevermind then. I remember playing the demo a bit, mostly in multiplayer which felt like a "rock paper scissors" as far as which powers to use, though I personally just spammed some giant slow homing orbs with had perfect tracking/pathfinding. I'm guessing there was a power that could dispell them, but nobody really knew which one at the time.
There are a lot of great Marvel video games that I have no idea why they aren't already here on GOG or why they aren't being asked loudly. After all, now Marvel is owned by Disney and here we already have most of the Disney and Star Wars games.

I'd LOOOOVE the Ultimate Marvel games here.
