XeonicDevil: is there a script to rip a list of my steam games so i can look them up on gog?
long story short, steam is ran by a bunch of crazy nut jobs and i'm sure they run experiments on players.
Seems a bit drastic and dramatic, but okay.

I mean deleting your Steam account. Rebuying some of the games on GOG in order to e.g. get an offline installer is quite ok, I think I've done that too for some games I've already had on Steam.
This will be completely offtopic, but I don't want to resurrect an old thread.

Did you actually find an artist for that Tron game?
And if so - is there perhaps some vague time window when the first Alpha will be available? (I'd suggest itch.io for this.)

Not asking in private because Tron games are severely lacking and I'd wager other people too would want to know how's the development and how your story with finding an artist went.

XeonicDevil: i look at the user agreement ect, you would be a fool not to support gog.

Lifthrasil: Unfortunately GOG doesn't keep their promise of DRM-free anymore. They have been selling games with DRM-ed content for quite a few years now.
It's DRM-Lite then. Still better than Steamworks + Denuvo + online login + 3rd Party launcher.
For us Steam is useful for product reviews, which are more numerous and comprehensive than here. As for anything else, Fuhgeddaboudit!

Sure. It's a lesser evil. But it's still worse than the 100% DRM-free promise that was the reason for me to support GOG.

It would be less bad, if they had openly communicated 'we become DRM-agnostic now, but we'll mark clearly which game has what kinds of DRM'. But they continue to pretend to be 100% DRM-free. Which is a lie.

u2jedi: I do not like the backup feature in STEAM. You can download a whole game to your PC as backup BUT it's in .CSM format which can only be decoded by STEAM. If Gaben kicks the bucket are we going to be stuck with useless .CSMs?

I hope not, STEAM's version of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine is the only version I can get working after using compatibility mode.
None of my downloaded games on Steam are in .csm format? And for a lot of them I can play them when Steam is uninstalled. Not sure what feature you're using in Steam. I just use Ctrl+C + Ctrl+V. You should try it out.

100% DRM-free only applies to the singleplayer part of the game.

Is that really written anywhere in GOG marketing material?

I know it has been their stance since day one to allow DRM for multiplayer (and later they started allowing it in singleplayer too, but that’s another discussion), but it seems to me it has always been implicit, they have never been really honest about it.
support put all replies on my my account to a bot, it relayed nothing.
so for 3 years all they did was close tickets, so finally asked why they used mental health as the excuse.. well i hope they feel better soon, but i still need assistance.
