nobody can say it wasn't on topic. :)
Some games have karma systems that punish you if you steal. Ultima 4-6, for example. (Yes, I know that isn't a complete sentence.)

Of course, in Ultima 5, there is a place with some treasure that's worth stealing, especially (unlike in Ultima 6) you can keep gaining karma endlessly.
I like Gothic in that regard. where you can steal and carry absolutely everything.
That's all we need, a superhighway of endless karma running over everyone's dogmas.

But can you conceal and carry without a permit? :)

One thing that’s always bothered me was looting cemeteries. Especially in games where the dead are rising. Gee, it’s almost as if they’re mad some jackhole is bumbling around the catacombs and prying off their gold fillings. How does my Paladin justify this?

I have to confess to something. When I was a kid (about 7 years old), I really liked small trinkets. I used to live right across the street from a cemetery once, where they buried people every so often and we would see the ceremonies from time to time. My brother and I actually helped dig a grave one day. Back then, it was just a task helping someone, today it is surreal and macabre.

However, there was a little US flag on one grave that I took, because after having pledged allegiance to it for so long, I thought it would be cool to have one of my own. (Mind you, I was 7 years old at the time.) I feel bad for having taken it.
well,it's not my fault if no one's trying to stop me.
The only time i don't steal is,when there is some form of consequences for it like guards attacking you or bad karma or if you're lawful good.Old rpgs didn't have that though,so i'm used to rummaging :).Why not steal though?Between all the crap you find, there's always a jar in a house that contains a [Warrior's helmet+5] or an item that increases your HP by 200.
The video reminded me of another old video called 'cliche quest' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBd8ydC0_IM

I suppose it's in your 'upbringing'. You don't always have to steal, you can always ask for things and if people don't want or care for it, they'll be like "sure, it's yours" and then you have a clear conscience.

There are some people who believe it's better to ask for forgiveness while there are others who believe it's better to ask for permission. I'm of the latter sort and it's worked quite well for me.
I am looking forward to the day where I can pick up the ultimate version of Fallout 4. From what I hear, you can break down small buildings as loot... *drool*

Yes, I am afflicted with kleptomania. I don't care, I am the one with all the shacks!

Well excuuuuse me princess, the NPCs have never offered me anything,if they had, then i would have gladly taken it and would not feel inclined to steal from them.
Besides,i said already,i never steal if there are consequences. For example,in real life, the NPCs don't let you get in their houses and search their closets and barrels. If you do,then they summon some elite minions called 'the police',which are clearly overpowered. They have a ranged attack that penetrates armor and a thunder-based attack which stuns you for like 5 minutes!

You're excused. You're actually talking to the 'prince' of darkness. :)

...and the police minions can't search your home without a warrant, but I imagine in a game, they already have one signed by a judge.
It's been a long day and I just spent two hours driving in a killer blizzard, so bare with me.

Is the fight these two are having for real or are they just having fun? :P
