LGBT. An acronym, not a word, but still... Russia got that right, thankfully.

What do you mean they got it right?

Bradley every time I think I should lighten up and give you a chance you pull this bullshit. Not only is your ignorance beyond measure you are also on the wrong side of history, so pull your head out of your ass and join the rest of us in the real world.

He is not even correct, the lesbian and gay community has way more rights in Russia than here in Germany, for example adoption or marriage.

Oh, great. You took the bait. Now we're all doomed to a derailment.
Cue dtgreene showing up any minute now to help blow up the tracks.

That wasn't bait, he really feels that way, and doesn't mind expressing it.

Either way, I sense this thread is about to go downhill. I'd bet my bottom dollar dtgreene is going to show up and escalate things even worse until this place becomes the freakin' gamergate thread.

No. No, you do not. Although I have a feeling that if you stick around long enough, you'll soon find out.

Well, I´ve seen the thread a couple times, but didn´t think it would be interesting, guess I´ll stay away a bit longer from it.
I would banish the word 'the'. It is ranked #1 as the most used word in the English language; and as such, both ingrained in writing and speaking, would require bit of thought on a suitable replacement.

My purpose for doing so would be to see how creative people can be without it.
low rated
"gamergate" (and obvious variations such as "GamerGate")
Epic most definitely. Such an ironic word. At least since WoW was released. For that matter, take away WoW / World of Warcraft too, just to mess with Blizzard and their fanbase.

Why do people want the word politics gone? It's not like the word takes away the necessity to have it.

Why would you need a replacement at all? Just skip it. I actually think that wouldn't be such a big change, once you get used to it. (At least not if you still keep "a".)

It's funny you mention that, because 'a' was the first thing that came to mind until I decided to Google it, after all it is a letter and banning a letter, much less a vowel. The last thing I would want to have is uncontrollable vowel movements.

So, what I ended up with was a word which was apparently most used.

Now, what if we started paring down the the "most used" words so one was required to be a bit more resourceful and use a suitable replacement?

Not sure if that's really what we want either, because that's probably what happens to movie scripts created from great books.
