JKHSawyer: 1. These games were always sold some way some how, id Software's store has sold them long before GOG or even Steam. As a matter a fact id sold them for TWICE as much as GOG or Steam.
2. Abandonware isn't legal, and unless the rights are completely screwed is the only time it's "justified".
3. Complaining about these prices in particular is odd considering this site sells similar games for the same price.
4.Plus they're on sale but that's still to much for you? Quake 1 and 2 are $5. Doom is $3. That's like, lunch or a coffee. Give me a break. Not to mention GOG's Quake packages come with the music, and extras no other store is offering.
What do you want them to be?
1. Twice as much? Yaiks. That's not a viable option.
2. You have your boundaries, I have mine.
3. Examples?
4. Ignoring your implicit insult of me being a cheapskate... Yes, I still think it's too much. How much is reasonable?
Well let's see, take the Prince of Persia bundle. The graphics aren't lowrez, the gameplay hasn't been surpassed. In other words, these (mostly) great games STILL hold up. I bought the bundle at $10. That's $2.5 per game.
Compare to the Id Bundle. Except for Return Wolfenstein, the gameplay/gfx have been surpassed... by freeware. It would buy this only out of nostalgia. It would have to be for less than PoP.
