While the sales are all well and good and some of the games have fantastic prices at the moment I would rather more games would be released on gog then yet another sale. Also I have been hearing that gog passed on Thea the awakening!!!!! it's a great game and I don't understand why gog passed on this especially with the very slow rate on games that have come to gog last week ect.

Just my opinion.
Without wanting to sound ungrateful for sales, I would rather a few more game releases. Especially as the two sales seem very close to one another.
Yet this is their store and their choice.

On games, GOG pass on a lot of games, some you might want here, others you wont care about. Not a lot we can do about it apart from contacting developers, GOG and voting in the wishlist.
Anyway, hopefully the new year will have an entire wave of new games. Including the LEGO games, and the rest of LA catalogue. Here I am hoping anyway.
:)
Well it looks like you're going to have to settle for another sale and THEN more games instead of more games THEN another sale. It's so horrible, I know. How dare they!

Also, I'm curious : have you played every game in the GOG catalogue that interests you? Should I be awed at the number of games you've completed or amazed at the limited scope of games that interest you to play?

Or is there just something specific that you are perhaps really wanting them to get and are impatient for and venting a little because you want to spend your money there instead of on on-sale stuff? (I have some of those myself, Noctropolis and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines to name a couple I'd buy on their GOG-release day.)

A big sale on GOG no longer means no releases. During last month's fall sale, the following games were released during it:

Braveland Pirate
Legends of Eisenwald
Mini Metro
Never Alone
Runestone Keeper
Tropico 5
X Series

Needless to say, we should expect something similar for this sale, too.
Well I have been playing video games for a long time drealmer7 lol, I certainly haven't played every game in gogs catalog but I have played every one that appeals to me. Like you and many people I'd love for Vampire-Bloodlines to come to gog however I can see why that would take some time and work getting to gog over other titles.

I'd love Overlord 2 (Hey we have 1 already), Max Payne series, more Splinter Cells more Ubisoft games in general and the rest of the THQ and relic games.

I would also prioritize the release of more good games but I'm not convinced that having less sales will support that goal in any way (after all they have to sell the games in order to make money with them, in order to have resources for trying to release other games).

So if more releases of good games isn't possible for some reason I would still not object to a good sale, even if there is nothing interesting for me in this sale (somebody else might find it useful).

As I see it the two things have not much to do with each other.

About "Thea the awakening" I don't know anything about this game. If it is good enough and if the makers would agree to sell it without DRM, it should be here as soon as possible. Unfortunately GOG is known to be a bit picky and not very transparent about their decisions - I don't understand it either.
What exactly do the sales have to do with releases?
It reads like it's either one or the other while it's completely unrelated and there even have been releases while sales were running in the past (including the last autumn sale).
I want both sales and more games! I know, I am demanding, but that's how I was raised. Deal with it, or don't deal with it, up to you really.

I wish that too.
However, games available as drm-free usually means they can't sell any more drm copies.
So, we'll have to wait.

They have a habit of passing on good games for completely arbitrary reasons. Even games they enjoy. Whoever's in charge of that department needs to be fired and replaced.

I'm fine with sales but I wish more things I wanted would go on sale. Specifically Ink and The Frame. I fear they may not have one even on Christmas. D:
See it this way, sales bring in new customers which is beneficial to GOG because they can show that to publishers who haven't brought their games here yet and get them here.
Plus there are people who complain about GOG not having a sale while Steam is having one. Seriously, there's a thread where a guy said he wanted a game on GOG but its on sale on Steam.

Basically, how about both more sales and more games?

Blame the people who want sales for even small "events" like Halloween or Cyber week....:/
Hmm... more games I wouldn't be able to affor anyway, or an opportunity to finally buy some of the games that have been on my wishlist for months or more... Yeah, I think I like the sale more.
