The gist of it is that she dresses up as a highwayman and tries to rob her fianceé's engagement ring. He goes "No, I can't bear to part with it for I love her so!" and she goes "Oh good, I was going to shoot you if you gave it to me" and he goes "hahahahaha, what a funny story (help!), I can't wait to tell our future grandchildren (HELP!)".
And I was trying to point out (to the mods really) that it'd be much easier to just deal with the one troublemaker as the thread itself is still fine. Looks like it sort of worked, he's decided to leave for now. I'll call that a win.

Personally, I would rather have this thread stay on the intended topic and not be locked. Maybe some topicality might need to be enforced for this thread? There's some interesting game-related discussion to be had here, and I would like to be able to have that discussion without this derailment.

There's plenty of interesting on-topic discussion in this thread, like the mention of the game that traps you in a room with no escape (a deliberate softlock), and the notion that, in classic Sierra games, a trap's effect might be delayed until much later in the game, at which point you don't have an earlier save.

(I'm also reminded of one in Might and Magic 2, which has a non-specific warning (prepare to face the consequences, but nothing seems to happen), and which will trash your stats after the next fight or rest.)
