So you can get an email say, at the end of the week telling you about the new release.
Emails used to keep up with the news these days sound like... reading the newspaper :P. GOG has had an RSS feed for releases since like forever. Doesn't anybody use RSS any more? Is the once popular XML-based standard now shunned into oblivion?
I get E-mail about some new releases after I've already read about them here. Same with giveaways after I've already claimed them.

Where is it? My feed reader doesn't detect anything on the main page and it doesn't recognize the news feed as valid either. I don't know if I have the energy and interest to file a bug report.

Chrome was supposed to get a built-in feed reader, but the only news I can find is from August, so I don't know if it was actually implemented. It would be nice if it saw some renewed popularity. Then again, WebP is proof not everything Google pushes is popular.

Thank you. My default feed reader doesn't like that one either, and in my alternate I only see 8 articles. I think it'll stick to the forum and homepage. I stop by often enough that I'm unlikely to miss anything.

Because there are only latest 8 articles in the feed. But there are rarely more than 4 news posts per day so if you check regularly like at least once a day or two it's not that big problem.

That's the one I use as well. As for RSS readers, I used to go for an offline one, but now I'm using The Old Reader, which sort of wants to be a replacement of the retired Google Reader of old. Having it as an online service really makes one life's easier, especially if you access it from multiple devices.

I have never understood RSS or seen how to subscribe/unsubscribe (I'm only aware Firefox before auto-subscribed you to like 5 but wasn't explained at all so always was ignored). If i did i probably would have kept up on certain things better.

But i was going to suggest multiple RSS feeds, ones for sales events, freebies, new games, maybe price changes and other things for those interested, as i find Email to be woefully used by GoG.

In the olden days, you'd click the RSS feed icon on the page, but those are mostly gone. Nowadays, you need a feed reader add-on like Brief, Feedbro, Feeder, Smart RSS Reader, etc. or an online service.
Firefox never had a built-in feed reader. It had "live bookmarks" which were just bookmarks with titles that updated on their own. I never liked the feature and wasn't sorry to see it go, but Livemarks is available for those who miss it.
