Woah. They actually deleted Titanium's thread.

It's actually not spam (and you know it), but by deleting it, Gog invites spam.

Yeah, posting the same shit over and over is spam. Like we'll see in a bit when this spam gets deleted and one of you spammers post it again. I wonder why, since it was bringing up deleted spam for the third time in a row.

Or it could have been deleted because:

- It was a duplicate thread which is valid as there are technically two threads already going about this issue.

- Was was typed in the thread violated the rules of this forum.


Please note, I do agree that GOG needs to make a public statement about this issue.

I've tried to be quite optimistic about how they are handling things in terms of moderation, but like...yeah

There are no commutations from staff to users beyond a few lines that often make no sense.

The communications, when there, rarely have any alignment of consistency from mod to mod.

There's always this kinda sterile nature to it all that comes off as abrasive, borderline disdain. Especially depending on what users are involved.

The act of thread deletion should be the last resort, not the default. It fundamentally breaks down the line of communication between the users (e.g. your customers, the people talking about your service) and the staff, creating more problems each and every time.

If it's spam, lock it for an hour with why the post was locked, then delete it. At least people will know exactly why it was deleted.

The list could go on. I hope they can come together and figure it out, at the moment the slap-dash nature of it amateurish at best and gleefully negligent at worst. I would give further pointers, but then I'd have to start issuing invoices. But I will say...

You're modelling a forum, not standing guard in a prison. You can talk to them.

Cracking on that sort of threads is something that's flared up in the last couple of weeks, so... yes, I would say it is relevant.

Ok great, but do they teach you in law school whether the initial spam that got deleted was on the topic of something that already has a sticky thread, or on the topic of something that you start a thread like every day so there's numerous threads with the exact same content here already?
