A deleted account means less risk of your personal details being misused after an inevitable data breach happens, and as such it's definitely always a good policy to get your account completely deleted whenever you stop using a site.</copy-paste from a previous time the why question was asked in such a thread>

what personal details? :P

This could be a problem for anyone who stores their credit card info here, which is a stupid thing to do anyway. For those of us who don't, what could someone possibly get a hold of to hurt us?

GOG doesn't store credit card data.

They do now, only if you want.

Check next time you buy something. They give you the option.

WAIT WAIT WAIT
I didn't see the fine print.
But how does that work? It's a token to use, when? It says "Save this card for later use" but then it says it doesn't save it. I'm totally confused! :P

One of the major blogging platforms is sending out "Our user database got released to the internet but it's ok since we didn't get hacked" emails. It may be related. A few of our soccer moms are rather concerned.
