In summer I don't use windows. It looks silly having the windows up and the top down.

Jokes aside, I have almost always needed to use (for class or work) some specialized software or another which only works in Windows. Incidentally, it makes gaming easier, I guess.

I think the first step in changing this would be experimenting with dual operating systems?

Last time I checked, all major distributions change back to X11, or never use Wayland by default.
Renowned Explorers: International Society's libSDL2 is linked against wayland. Doesn't mean it works, though.

...because it is the OS with the best games support. Add in emulation and you got pretty much all games ever made covered.
