Employees and special press accounts will only show the game count of games they have actually purchased? Even though they can play any game from the storefront.

This way they do not retain access to removed games, unless they actually purchased them.

"Free access to GOG games" is not equivalent to "given all games for free for personal use at home." The original post is conflating those two separate premises together as if they are equal, even though they are not.

Free access to GOG games probably means that they can play them on systems at work during their breaks, or if they stay after-hours on their own unpaid personal time.

Although that's just a guess on my part. As usual with GOG, the original statement they made is highly ambiguous & unclear, and therefore it could potentially mean a whole ton of different things.

But I would say the statement is misleading, because a lot of people would reasonably assume it means they are given all games for free personal use at home.
