"Do you remember Angrybirds? Aw, best game ever. I wonder why they don't make games like that any longer?"

"Wow, that legendary Pokemon Go. What a game it was."

"Fruit ninja, I wonder why they don't make games like that any longer?"

All those shitty mobile titles are going to be classics in the future just because they are/were popular.

Maybe already in 10 years PC is going to be ancient technology, all you youngsters are going to feel like old farts and wonder wtf happened with the latest generation. Time goes fast.

this is how I look at, most old "classics" were just popular probably because nothing else was on the market to compete with. Even old xcom is a pain to play now.

But you're not grown up, not matured. The whole language of your post is that of the second rate bully that never found a place outside of school.

There was buggy tripe in the late 90's early 00's. There was rehashes of old tired ideas; platformers, so many formulaic platformers. Want a movie tie in, make it a platformer. And there were amazing games.

There are some truly amazing games being made now, that push ideas of story telling or interactivity. But is doubtful you could actually enjoy those games, because some of them require a degree of empathy that you skipped while growing up.

The OP's use of that word was specific, and was absolutely used in an offensive manner, just as you are doing now. You are using the word to bully and harass and you are fully aware that you are doing so.

Also it does not mean backwards, thats is its informal offensive use, at best it means to hold back.

Its use in medical terminology was dropped in the 80/90, partly because of its offensive connotation, but mostly because it was a poor scientific descriptor.

Lastly as for me being abusive. Calling out someone being a bully isn't abusive. Though I will correct myself self in saying the Op has shown some empathy in apologising for his offensive actions.

thank you for doing so, I understand for some unknown reason its crept its way into common gamer parlance, but for a lot of people its actually hugely offensive and hurtful. Me, I've got very personal reasons for why.

That was just what i remember from the top of my head right now. as others have said before in this thread, and following Sturgeon’s Law, 90% of everything is crap. The only difference is that we are living in the crap we have today, but forgotten the crap from yeasterday - so there is a hugh bias here. Consider this - there is a reason why the term "shovelware" originated in the early 1980's.
