They sure don't make anything like they used to.

Even internet trolls have lost their charm.

And now, get off my lawn!

You'll have to level up your trolling skills. It's not working very well so far.

toupz111: I think we all agree they don't make good games anymore, if you disagree you're either young or *********. Games used to be good, 20 years ago. Developers had to code hard to make their products sellable because there was no early access bullshit for '' Beta Testers '' or should i say guinea pig players. Nowadays games come out unfinished and riddled with issues or abandoned after some early access time... This i noticed mostly on steam tho. I have faith in Gog to bring awesome games and hope i'm wrong with this title and thoughts. There's still gems being made but they seem so rare.
If you can't find games that you like right now, I'd say you aren't looking hard enough. The sheer number of games they are releasing is blowing my mind.

Overall, I think games have gotten better overall, due to:
- Improved graphics and better computers now than 20 years ago for AAA games
- Better common knowledge of what frustrates gamers in games
- The indie gaming scene
- More tooling overall, enabling studios with more limited resources to focus on gameplay and less on reinventing the wheel

There are some masterpieces at any given era of gaming, but on average, I wouldn't trade today's games for the games they made 30, 20 or ever 10 years ago.

First and foremost, using "retarded" unless describing a system or chemical use to suppress an event or reaction is hugely offensive. Its the language of a the 90's school yard bully, no-one claiming to be an adult should be using that word to describe anyone.

There was buggy tripe in the late 90's early 00's. There was rehashes of old tired ideas; platformers, so many formulaic platformers. Want a movie tie in, make it a platformer. And there were amazing games.

There are some truly amazing games being made now, that push ideas of story telling or interactivity. But is doubtful you could actually enjoy those games, because some of them require a degree of empathy that you skipped while growing up.

It's more the 95% of everything is shit rule.
On the other hand I can't remember when it was the last time Hollywood made a good/interesting movie or when popular music produced anything listenable.

I'm excited for Elex 2
Alright, OP. I'll bite. You go ahead and play Ganso Saiuuki: Super Monkey Daibouken, Isle of the Dead, Top Banana, Family Dog, Paris-Dakar Rally Special, then finally round it off with Limbo of the Lost, and chase that with MsiBamba Shel Bamba.

And you go ahead and pretend that the 80s, 90s, and 2000s were some proverbial golden child of the age.

(Also your faith in GOG is terribly misplaced. Guess you've not played AD 2044.)

why should anybody play these? not that ive heard any of these probably very bad games
I definitely do not agree. There are tons of good games out there. There are like a million indie games that I know for a fact that you play. Did you forget about Soulash? Did your forget about Darkdire? Did you forget about Rimworld? Evochron Legacy? Hazordhu. I know you love those games as you have told me many times and I've seen you playing them.

IMO its mostly the triple A devs that have been missing the mark lately. They keep trying to make more and more promises to remain relevant and unity and unreal engine have flattened the curve with making games. People can buy assets and create a decently good game in a weekend. Its a pretty exciting time for gaming.
