Now that we can digital information through smart phone, I hardly see the need for physical print.
Has anyone here noticed that printers seem to break down or have "issues" like a lot? I've had quite a few printers over the years, and they ALWAYS seem to be having issues, paper getting jammed, the "green light" going red and refusing to work for some reason.

micktiegs_8: Keep them for the inevitable take-over by the cat overlords. Print a huge document in each of them and the cats will go into uncontrollable fits... rendering them powerless and vulnerable.

no need for ink, as the printer will still try and do its job.
That is actually not true in many cases. Some printers will refuse to work if they're out of ink. Some will even refuse to print in black & white if they're out of one type of colored ink, even if they have plenty of black. But the clincher is when a printer/scanner refuses to scan, because it's out of one type of ink.

I'm not making this up. This actually happens.

Now you only to need to find many female (or male if you prefer that) friends and make them come over and use those printers to hit on them.

That's all well and good until you accidentally 93 MB of .rar files. Then it might get dangerous...

Beelzebubb: Why is it cheaper to just buy a new printer set than buying an ink cart replacement. What the fuck is wrong with this world.
Over 7 years ago, when I was leaving my previous company, I took with me (at a price of 20 EUR) a HP LaserJet 6P that has been heavily used in this company from 1998. I bought the printer together with new cardridge and the very same cartridge still sits there. Of course I don't use it too often (mostly printing colouring sheets for my children) but I'm amazed how durable this thing is.

Did someone say ”printer”?

Anyway, ink cartridge should be quite cheap (10$).
If you mean laserjet toner which are indeed expensive as a new printer, then there should be some firms, which for 10-15 bucks will refill the old toner and change its chip if necessary. At least that's how we do it in Romania.

Now, back to the printer. Isn't any of your friends interested in printing something at your place? Considering you have so many and the cartridge problem is solved (read above).
