The GOG forums system transliterates non-latin characters. I thought the Russian ones were good, but nothing beats these

I think that's a village in Wales.
I'm impressed, though. The transliteration seems to work better than most other things in the forum. :P

It is a hard language for Europeans/English speakers.

A minor comfort is that the grammar is rather simple and that the glyphs are less complicated than they might appear at first sight. It’s not like every symbol is unique and completely different from the others. For a big part they consist of little reusable “building blocks”, which you get the hang of after a while.

Source: I had 3 semesters of Japanese long ago. The Kanji are basically Chinese (Kan) characters/glyphs (ji).

I would guess that the hardest part are the tonal systems of both Mandarin and Cantonese.

And ironically the lack of such a tonal system in Japanese is the reason why so many different Japanese words sound the same.

When that law was read out loud in parliament, the MPs had a good laugh at the title. Who said politicians don’t have humor?
Wow, that's the link. ^_^
