It has been in the general threads. Although 'what are you watching now' or 'what random thing did you find on the internet/youtube' threads would be more appropriate. Or terrible translations in video games.

The video he pointed to looks like a bunch of Text to speech of really badly translated games from the NES era. I didn't watch it all, feels too much like clickbait. But i do remember seeing the discussion on games needing better translations, though that was years ago and i know it would be impossible to find under GoG's search features.

But safe to say there's nothing else here.

I always find it irritating when people create threads with a completely uninformative title. It gets even more irritating when the opening post doesn't explain what the thread's about either. And WORST of all is when the whole thing is a link to yet some other thing, as if it's illegal for the OP to explain anything. Just wasting everybody's time.

The arcade version Zero Wing doesn't even have any of that, as far as I've seen. Kind of a shame.

The video was the classic "All Your Base" from the terribly translated Zero Wing - it was something of a cult watch/"meme" in the early 2000s.

And I find it irritating when people come into threads they dislike just to complain about them and/or to act better than those in them.

If people dislike threads: imo they can and should ignore them....or even filter them out(via the various gog extensions).

To be fair we ended up with a far more memorable game than if they did the job properly. Much like House of the Dead 2, sometimes the awful parts just make a thing more endearing.

Makes sense when you realize i posted it on the 6th. I find it odd, though, that it took 2 days to start seeing replies. Man, news dies fast anymore. And i thought people forgetting who's responsible for COVID after 8 months was bad.
