One of us needs to bump that "Official tinyE appreciation thread" again. Am I gonna have to be the one to do it?

That is unreal! It reads like who's who of scammers and leeches.

Fenixp: There we go, GOG completed the most voted wish of this week!
I wonder how many people misread that as "Ban TinyE" before voting... :p

Edit: Wait, completed? TinyE now is immune to bans? What have you done???

Probably all voters from Florida in the United States. That's OK, they'll blame it on "hanging chads". :)

Lel. I thought that wishlists were never complete unless they are fullfilled.. so basically if I look at it TinyE has a getoutofjailfree-card for all eternity.

Heh, I always thought it was because Dubya's brother was the governor of Florida at the time :P (I lived in Florida during the "hanging chads" debacle)

Well, I moved down to Florida back in 1995 and have been down here since. That particular election sort of gave the state a bit of a stigma, not to mention several other wonderful events that unfolded over time, such as finding out the terrorists that flew into the twin towers were trained to fly down here.

Aside from that, my parents tried to dissuade me from moving here because Florida has "hurricanes". Since I've been here, Floyd skirted close by one year and Wilma came close enough in 2005 to require minor repairs among having the power out for about three days.

Have to admit, the weather has been pretty nice down here lately.

Hmmm... Green is the new black, I guess? At least now people can see me coming miles away :)

hedwards: Perhaps. But, I'm very much surprised that nobody has taken an interest in squashing the known scammers troll thread. At best it just serves as a scoreboard for trolls and at worse it chases away new members that are substantially more likely to be accused of being forum alts than regulars.
avatar
RWarehall: And here we go...silly people wanting the threads they don't like removed...

Be careful what you wish for, because why shouldn't someone object to the threads you like and have them removed.

No, instead we have some idiot that doesn't want people to know about all the scammer alts around. Just let all the newbies get scammed to heck...

I'd say the biggest problem with gaining new members right now are the predator alts. How many people are going to use these forums after they have been scammed?
It's not about what I like, it's about the fact that the whole thread violates GOG's rules. Not to mention that it's just a cesspool that breeds trolls.

If you avoid doing business with people you don't know, you're likelihood of being scammed is rather low. The threads themselves haven't exactly proven to be very effective in terms of preventing scams anyways.

They mostly are a place where people can make wild accusations about who the various alts of whoever are and none of that really does any good.

And it doesn't matter to you that the thread was proven correct about most of these alts? It doesn't matter to you that people on these forums are losing hundreds of game codes? Seriously, maybe you need to get your head out of your behind...

You seem to think you know everything and you don't. Those threads are pointing out suspicious traders; pointing out their scam tactics. But here you are making an idiot of yourself claiming that is somehow a violation of the terms of service just like you made an idiot of yourself claiming GoG was illegally promoting gambling with mystery box promos. You clearly do not know what you are talking about as usual...

And how are these posts of yours throughout the forum not trolling and abusive...

As I said, be careful what you wish for...

Yes of course it matters that most of the alts were correct. That's specifically why I'm against it, most is not all. Some of the people in there are people that already have reputations, but some of the people aren't.

Ultimately, the only people that can take action are the people running the site. For the rest of us, we're going to have to follow typical online safety precautions.

I don't bother going in there anymore because it's a witch-hunt. People get all bent out of shape pointing out that if they would restrict the trades and whatnot to people they know, or at least who have a reputation, it would greatly cut down on the amount of scamming that goes on.

But, even worse, you've got people trying to use the thread to enforce their morality and manners on other people via bullying, shaming and shunning. It's gotten way out of hand.
