Save those Tic Tacs to make dentures out of after your teeth fall out. :P

An honest opinion from me (directed towards everyone, including TinyE, who may respond if he wishes to) :

When I first joined GoG and started reading and posting on these forums I noticed TinyE's posts and thought, "this guy is funny". It was also instantly obvious that he is popular on here. I have (or had) no problem with that fact, although I can't stand cliquey web forums (or cliquey anything, to be honest).

Sometime later I had a very strange exchange with him in which he basically accused me of downrepping him. It was totally unexpected and felt like a smack in the face. I don't know why he thought I had been downrepping him, but I certainly hadn't ! Perhaps I had simplybeen expressing opinions which he didn't agree with ? I don't know why he made this accusation - or rather, it was more like an insinuation than an outright accusation, but I was taken aback by it. In fact, I felt a bit insulted by it. But I was prepared to let bygones be bygones. But I have always felt uncomfortable since then when TinyE has been online, simply on account of how unwarranted that accusation was. It's a shame really, but he started it ! I am a bit paranoid to start with, but TinyE can certainly compete with me I reckon ! It's just really strange from my point of view that he should have pointed the finger at me.

Then, a few weeks ago, I asked two entirely different questions about manuals and I got a snarky comment from TinyE, who asked, "did you really need to make two posts about manuals ?" Well, actually, they were two entirely separate and different questions, so yes I did - and I replied to that effect. Seriously, I felt like I wanted to punch the ****ing wall ! He could have just kept his mouth shut, but he didn't. He also could have read my posts properly, which he didn't either. But the fact that he decided to have a go at ME, in particular, and for no reason comprehensible to me, has rankled to be honest. I have NEVER downrepped ANYONE on this forum, nor would I ever do so unless they did something seriously bad to me. However, based on my experiences with TinyE thus far, I can understand why some people might choose to do so.If you're popular you shouldn't abuse your popularity by trying to make other people gang up on individuals who you don't see eye-to-eye with.It doesn't make you clever, it makes you a DICK.

So now TinyE tells us all that he just got warned, and the outpouring of sympathy and indignation is heart-warming. But can he please, in his privileged position as forum jester and generally popular guy, treat ALL people in a friendly manner in future ?
Well, I've lost my patience with tinyE before, but reporting someone? Seems like such a strange course of action, specially in this forum, why would someone do that? Surely there are better ways to resolve conflict than "call an adult", like actually talking it out? Assuming they haven't tried that yet, of course.

Reminds me of playing soccer as a kid. We'd practically rip each other's shins out of our legs and say: "Did I do something wrong? If you think it was a foul you can just call it a foul, we'll stop the game right here if that's what you want", and know what? No one ever did. No one wanted to be the pussy who called a foul. We just escalated the violence. Like a man.

I get where you're coming from, I just wanna say you're taking this too personally, he didn't have a go at you. Nine out of ten of his posts are exactly that "snarky, let's never engage in the discussion, much less take anything seriously, lest anyone on the internet might think I'm not cool" type of post.

I think that attitude in general is a bit of a problem in this forum, it's not limited to him, it might just seem that way because he posts ten times more than anyone else.

tinyE, If I may be so bold, while I don't know anything about Theoclymenus, I think his is a fair criticism, which you should take into consideration. I think the forum in general would benefit from treating newbies and non-regulars a bit more patiently, not only by you, but as a rule. No need to scare them off.

Well, I knew that the idiots are abusing the absence of moderation (which is otherwise a good thing - the absence, not the abuse) but getting mods to do something for them is probably new. Glad to see it has been worked out.

Perhaps I have taken it too personally, but it was weird the first time he had a go at me and then he repeated it. Anyway, I believe in not making dramas out of these things. I think TinyE is a funny guy and I've witnessed the nice side of him too. I just felt the responses so far needed balancing up with a bit of criticism, because it seems sometimes as if certain individuals can do no wrong, while others can't say anything right.

Okay but I have never harassed or scared a newbie off. In fact I usually chew people out who do that.

And that is why you end up 5 hours on the dentist office.

I'll see myself out.
...and I'm not letting up on NES and Swatkatt and all of those assholes.

If they want to practice their crap in here I am going to make it as difficult as I possibly can.
