I wholeheartedly agree. I actually got unreasonably pissed off when I saw a lot of people's avatars don their Christmas attire around Halloween. Where I live, we haven't even seen wintry weather yet. The first week of December is plenty early.

In France it's becoming more and more like USA. Medias start diffusing advertisements & christmas movies directly after Halloween. Even cities are being decorated in the beginning of November.

Just to push more "commercial opportunities" as you said. I'm sure one day they'll start in September.

Exactly. Sinistar says he doesn't like Xmas stuff before Thanksgiving, not that he doesn't want it at all.

(To clarify for non-Americans reading the thread, American Jews get Christmas off like everyone else. Historically, Chinese restaurants were usually the only ones open on Christmas Day, and movie theaters do open on Christmas afternoon. So it's sort of a running joke that Christmas Day is "Chinese and a Movie Day" for American Jews. That's also why the Christian family in the movie TinyE's talking about ends up eating Peking duck when their turkey gets ruined.)

When I was growing up my mom loved to play Christmas music all the time. I remember one year, it was the first day of summer vacation and my mom had her Christmas record on while she was doing dishes. It was at that moment that I realized, she probably played those records all the time but I never knew because I was in school! So having stores put out Christmas decorations early doesn't really phase me. In fact, since I had to clear all the snow off the car this morning, it seems almost fitting to have some holiday stuff out.

I once paid a Salvation Army ringer $5 on the condition that he quit ringing that blasted bell until after I was gone.
