Last summer I went to see Steam sale and I had money to buy couple of games so I bought The Witcher 1 and 2 and couple more games. And now I am sure you already know what is my sin here. First of all, I had no idea that GOG is CD Projekt's project. Usually I do not read news about video games too much so I totally missed this info. I usually just read news about game releases and I read couple of reviews and that is it. I am going to redeem myself by buying The Witcher 3 and couple more games this summer when I save some money. :D

It would be nice to hear opinion from someone from CD Projekt so I know that I am forgiven for this treachery. :D

Oh wow, that is amazing. I managed to redeem TW2. I am having a problem with TW1 tho. It says "This code doesn't look like one of ours. Please check that you entered the code correctly.". But I had the same error for TW2 and then all of sudden it worked.

And thanks man.

I am switching to GOG for most of the games. If GOG has the game I like, from now on I buy it on GOG. Had no idea CD Projekt is behind GOG. They deserve every penny.

Welcome!
:)
Also note that sometimes publishers do take some time before releasing their games on GOG. For example, Abzu was released on GOG only today.

EDIT: I hope you would like the DRM free experience.

Deja65. Hvala brate moj :D

Gotrekus. Thanks brother.

bhrigu.

I see some of developers have some of their games on GOG while some of their other games not. For example Bethesda has Oblivion, Morrowind but has no Skyrim. How come ? And my country is poor so I do not have money for new games anyway, so from now on I'll hope that games I want will pop up on GOG's store. I intend to buy some classics right now like Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2, Icewind Dale 1 and 2, Oblivion and Morrowind and Fallout 3 and New Vegas, so I am good for some time :D And yeah, as you can see, I'm an sucker for RPG games. I just love it when I spend money knowing that I am going to have 100+ hours on one single game.

Old man goes into a Confessional Booth, he says, "Father, I have a confession to make. I am a 78 year old man and recently I had sex with four different eighteen year old coeds, and I found out this morning that I got all of them pregnant."

The Priest says, "And when is the last night you were in Confession?"

The old man says, "Never. I'm not even Catholic."

The Priest replies, "Well then why are you telling me?"

The old man yells, "Telling you?! Hey! I'm telling everybody!"

Welcome brother, but there are many victims still left behind, hope those souls will one day be saved just like yours. Have you bought Neverwinter Nights Diamond yet, it's yours if you claim it for yourself. If you want it then contact me, I can't contact you cause your profile is set to private.

Welcome!

A few hints, so you're not disappointed later:

Supporting GOG, CD Projekt and most importantly DRM-free is fine, but it comes with a few caveats:
- Some games are "abandoned" by devs. Which means Steam versions are up to date, versions here are not. GOG staff is trying to remedy this as good as they can, and sometimes they succeed, but there's only so much you can do... without getting a hold of the person in charge that involves straps, a towel and a few buckets of water. Steam is just by dimensions larger and therefore more important to most devs.
- People with blue text are "the locals" (meaning GOG staff). You can even chat to them, they are very friendly most of the time.
- People with yellow text are devs. They sometimes turn up here for a Q&A when a game is released.
- DRM-free means, you can download all installers simply via per browser and install them on any machine you like. No need to be online for that. You can play every game offline too (except for Gwent) and that indefinitely. Just be aware that many games installers come with the Galaxy client included - if you just want to back up your games, just download the installers without it.
- GOG is a small company from Poland. In the past there was no support on weekends - now they have a skeleton crew at least. Just don't expect a fast answer from support when it's Sunday 4:00 AM in Warzawa...
- Don't mind the site bugs... For every thing they fix here, two other things break...
- The community... well it used to be better, and it was really worse recently. But IMO it's still one of the most friendly and open international communities around, at least for gaming websites. Just ignore the trolls and don't fall for scammers.
Welcome to GOG! :)

Actually, these games, as well as Fallout 3 and New Vegas have only been added to GOG's catalogue rather recently (last year?), and it was a big deal. Many big publishers of popular AAA games are reluctant to sell their games DRM-free (which is a requirement on GOG), they prefer to sell on Steam only or even just in their own closed environments (EA Origin, Ubisoft's UPlay, Blizzard's Battlenet - or whatever it's called nowadays, etc.). Especially when it comes to the more recent and the more popular games (like Skyrim). GOG is always trying to get the big players of the industry on board, but it often takes years of negotiations, and success is not guaranteed. So don't expect to find the same selection of modern AAA titles here as on Steam. Some games will only arrive years later, and many popular titles might not arrive here ever. And with the way the industry is heading (games as a service, always online, microtransactions etc.) it doesn't look like the situation will change for the better any time soon. But if you're into oldschool and indie RPGs you should find enough games here to keep you busy for a long while anyway!

Dude, if you just want to enjoy games. Buy them on Steam. It makes no difference to the experience, not one bit. Just enjoy the game and don't care what others think. I do recommend trying to get them on GOG just for the goodies though, they're pretty awesome.

I use Steam too. But if the game I want is available on GOG, I am going to get it on GOG just because I appriciate CD Projekt. And I think they deserve my money more than Valve. Also if you look at long term effect, if GOG becomes competition for Valve, it is going to be better for us players. Because they will need to improve. There will be more sales, better offers, better support etc. because they are competition and they need to beat the competition and be better than competition. I look at it that way.

But ofc, my switching to GOG doesn't mean I'm giving up on my Steam acc. For example I grabbed temporary free Amnesia Collection today on Steam. That is a realy good deal.
