Well, that sux but you have to do what you think is the best, so wherever you go, good luck. :)

Konrad: I see, that does make sense - patch info is already out there, so I don't know how much work it would be to just also make it visible on the product card somewhere.
That would be great if it happened.

mrkgnao: … to say goodbye.
....

Thank you all for a most memorable experience, my fellow goglodytes.

P.S. I'm still around until June 21.
Dear mrkgnao,

I want to express my warmest thanks for your work. You have done something really great h6ere with magog. I can totally understand that everything ends sometimes and I wish you all the best your free time you will have now. ;) I hope you fill it with happy actions.

Let me salute you!!

P.S. I'm not very happy with GOG either and buy considerably less games than in the past and no giveaways anymore. GOG isn't something I can identify 100% anymore (as it was in the good old past).

Unless you do it you'll never find out how much work it is. ;)

mrkgnao: … to say goodbye.

For quite a while now, GOG has been drifting in directions that I personally find less appetising, both in matters of policy (e.g. regional locking, regional pricing, "incomplete" editions) and in matters of quality (e.g. bugs, lack of communication, general neglect, and of course “where are my PMs?”). [...]
It's a very sad day when an upstanding, respected, loved, and committed member of the community like yourself is driven away. I can certainly understand the disappointment and frustration that led you to this decision, and will miss you.

MaGig's services to this community is invaluable and irreplaceable.
Many seem to not care about the updates on regional pricing, but I do, and have been following that thread on a daily basis every since you started it. I will miss it as much as the update reports in the "What did just update" thread.

But as much as I appreciate MaGog's services to us, your presence here is what I'm going to miss the most. I've always been looking forward to reading your posts; I enjoy your refined humour and sarcasm, and admire the respectful and cool-headed way in which you make your points and complaints.

It was an honour and privilege to have known you. I wish you all the best, and hope we cross paths again one day.

Wish we could throw you a proper "Farewell" party.

Konrad: You mean patch notes for game updates? You can find changelogs (whenever they're available to us that is) on each product card in your library or through Galaxy. I'm looking at the one for Homeworld Remastered right now.

On the site, use the "More" dropdown and select Changelog to see it. In Galaxy the same feature appears next to the Install/More buttons.
If I may - you seem to be unaware of a very important factor. In order to check said changelogs, we must be made aware that they've become available, get an update flag. But we don't always get one, and I don't mean that the system is occasionally glitching. There is a set of games that we don't get notified about updates ever. This set includes:

1. Every single game that is sold as part of bundle on the site - I've not gotten an update flag for any of them ever since he great unbundling.
2. Games that went through "pre-order" with content that was removed after release.
3. Games we got as backers that don't correspond to any of the editions sold on the site, like Wasteland 2, Pillars of Eternity - I've not gotten a single update flag for these, ever.
4. TW3 acquired via the nVidia promo - not a single update flag for this one either.

Reason for this, as mrkgnao and MaGog have found out, is that the games in our libraries have a different ID than on the store.
This issue has been reported repeatedly, yet GOG has not even acknowledged it.

The "What did just update" thread and MaGog's reports a̶r̶e̶ were the only way to find out there is an update/patch to download in these cases. How are we supposed to find out now if any games we have and fall under any of the above cases got updated? Go through our libraries periodically opening the game cards and checking if there's a changelog?

And even for those that the update notification system works as intended - it's not useful to those that are looking into purchasing a game, is it? GOG used to display on the game pages the state games were patched to, but dropped it a good while ago. By restricting the changelogs to only those that already own a game, GOG's not helping people make an informed purchasing decision.
We as a community try to post them here, even though it's not our job, but we can do it only for the games we own, and even then it's not always possible without MaGog due to the numerous cases mentioned above.

So, from the user's POV, the current system, and GOG, leave a lot to be desired, and it's very disappointing that its improvement seems to be very low on GOG's TO DO list.
sad to see you go. thank you for your help keeping us up to date with our games, hopefully we'll see you again! :-)
Sorry to see you go....like many others, I will miss your dry humor at times. I know the forum will miss your help and advice immensely. Perhaps you might poke your head in once and while for a visit. If not, good fortune, and happy trails to you Mr.K, you'll be missed....
Why hasn't mrkgnao been rewarded by GOG for his hard work ie. offer him paid offsite work. Anyway thanks for Magog and I appreciate everything you've done in these parts, take care.
Hey man you do what you feel is best.

Thanks for the help by the way.
Never used Magog myself but, big THANK YOU for all the effort you put into making Gog a better place.
Thank you mrkgnao. You were one of the best, if not the best thing about this site. The fact that you stuck around and helped us for so long is downright virtuous of you. So again, thank you for all your work and I hope whatever you decide to do next makes you happy. :)

Give me a week (probably not even that) and I'm sure I could sort it :P

Not right now though as I'm still busy with work, but I could still probably fit it in...
