mk47at: I was under the impression that the whole thing was for Galaxy bugs.
It's mostly for Galaxy bugs, but not only for Galaxy bugs. Will probably have to poke the blues to add a few more categories to it, then see how many people will actually make use of it.

Cavalary: I just wonder how many of those expressing sadness and/or surprise here actively push back against those changes in policy and that drop in quality mentioned in the OP...
I'm not sure what you expect us to do.
Boycott GOG? Yeah, not gonna work, considering that 85% of users probably haven't even touched the forum.
Complain perpetually to the staff? Already happened. It's what we've all been doing since the beginning of this place.

The best we can ever do is try to make the best of however things are.

Honestly OP is overreacting and putting blame on the wrong person. The region locks and such that was listed has nothing to do with GoG. Locks come directly from the countries that are facing the restrictions. This usually is due to censorship, but it can also be tied to several other reasons.

No company would ever suddenly restrict selling their merchandise to a country for no reason.

If OP wishes to leave, that's their decision. However, leaving because of policy changes and putting blame on someone who isn't responsible for them is not a good reason.

JMich: ...
Please poke away. Maybe it will work.

I think the only official page that mentions mantis.gog.com is hidden in the Galaxy FAQ. It might be a good idea to place a link in a spot that has higher visibility.

Fairfox: It does naaazing. What would/could peeps even do aside from trying to let GOGie know (which we dooo)? This forum is a fraction of teh users on GOGie, aaand GOGie hasn't exactly shown itself to be as speedy oooor receptive to change (that isn't on its own terms, rargh).
You know, i like to believe there's this alternative universe where the community of gog instead of giving up or thinking "nothing to do with me, not maaaah problem" actually join up forces and forces gog to do something.

Dunno, let's say that 10 goggers (from that alternative universe, obviously) join up, create 5 alt accounts and send a support ticket requesting the forum to be fixed.... or 20 goggers do that, that would be 100 support tickets each day clogging their support, you could say "They'll just ignore it", not they won't, they have to check evey single one to know what to ignore or not, eventually they would adress this problem with "Guys please, we're working on a solution so now you can stop spammin our support"... NOPE, solution appears = spamming stops.

The only way that gog REALLY gets the message it's when it affects them. For example:

Scamming the community = Gog doesn't give a fuck;
Scamming Gog = Gog improves their security.

Peole saying shit inside the thread = Gog doesn't give a fuck;
People swearing in the title thread = Gog implements a system to block those words.

Am i the only one that sees a pattern here?

Damn. It took me a few days to notice this thread (yes, I'm also less active than I used to be). I am very sad that you are leaving us and thereby will be leaving the GOG forum in an even sadder state. How will GOG manage without you doing what they should have been doing all along? Will they finally start improving their customer service, when people like you, barefoot and adalia don't do it for them any more? ... I doubt it.

Still, I understand why you leave. I'm mostly held here by the mafia games too. The rest of the 'GOG experience' really is being dismantled step by step.

I hope you'll keep checking in from time to time.

Something, anything. Beats "making the best of things as they are" aka giving in. As long as you keep complaining, it counts as something at least.

Fairfox: Again, tho, don't think this community is large enough (in an active way) for what you're saying; most of teh users don't participate and/or care :/. It is a sad tale of woe and... sadness.
Well, not getting any larger if those who do participate and/or care don't show it and/or give up.

I'll keep posting these bits from their conference just months before the "good news". 19:54 - 22:49 (including a bit specifically against what they ended up doing soon after) and 30:12 - 31:35.

Yep. Not so keen on the alts though, but if it works...

Sad to hear your departure mrkgnao and I used MaGog for quite sometime.

I never thank to you personally and I guess it's the time, Thanks for everything you've done for the community especially with MaGog. Goodbye mrkgnao, you'll be missed.

No Fairfox, this community is big enough for what i mentioned, there's a lot more than 10 people in this thread saying goodbye to mrkgnao and i'll bet there's more than 100 different people on the "Community" giveaway thread.

So the problem isn't the +1000 people that don't participate on the forum, it's those few that do...

I just heard the news and I am really, really sad. mrkgnao was a GREAT and VER valuable member of this community and was always friendly and helped everybody. Not just with MaGOG with EVERYTHING. GOG should really think about what happened here. Yes, I saw two blues stating how they will miss him and how they are sad but think about it: how much do you have to DO WRONG until you lose such a valuable member and how many will follow? This should be a big red sign for GOG that they are doing something completely wrong here. At the moment I am writing this I am not just sad but also angry because I heard that GOG just did another stupid thing and is gonna block several games for Germans (oh please stop me with the "it's the law" nonsense - the law existed the last 7 yrs and nothing happened. Nobody cares, that is the point!). GOG is going Steam more and more - the only principle they still maintain is DRM-free. Hey, we love you, we give you a new account system (which nobody wnated), we give you regional pricing (which nobody wanted) and we give you regional blocking (which nobody wanted). Where is the GOG I fell in love with? The GOG who told us that we are their friends and that we are valued? I am telling you again: if you are going to continue this way you will lose other customers as well. mrkgnao's leaving is a very sad thing but for GOG it should be a sign that something is absolutely wrong in poland!

@mrkgnao: I wish you all the best and thank you very much for everything you did for the community and myself. It is very much appreciated and there is no one who can replace you. Good bye!
