What a sad day for the GOG community... Thanks for all your hard work mrkgnao. I'll especially miss all the daily updates about important changes that might otherwise go unnoticed and unannounced...

I should have clarified from the beginning that I didn't mean that as an acceptable replacement to adding the actual changelogs, just pointed out GOG's practice.
Flagging a game as updated while making the changelog a news post, and omitting it from people's accounts, just demonstrates how inadequately GOG's handling of updates is. More so since the news on the front page only go back to a certain point in time, thus can rather easily be missed.



This is unfortunately only too true, proving that "adamantly try for flat pricing" to be an empty promise.

I just want to echo the sentiments that others have already posted in this thread. Your forum posts were always polite, insightful, and added much to the Gog community. Moreover your generosity -- whether it was in give-aways, or in maintaining MaGog -- has definitely left a lasting impact here. I'm sad to see you go, but I certainly wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

I'm thinking of using some of these hours to develop my own game. Not immediately, but at some point down the line.

Considering the fact that I estimate it will take me 5-10 years to develop the game (given that I have zero experience in any of the necessary disciplines, except programming, and I still dream of doing it all by myself), the more pertinent question would be "Will there be a GOG?".

Like many others I'm sad to see you go. I would have liked to, but cannot find a way to counter your observations. GOG's growth comes together with a shift from "community member" experience, to "Customer" experience. Wish you the best ;-)

Can't say I disagree with your observations. Recent changes seem to be aimed mostly at growth through new customers/members.
From a business point of view I understand that. Though I was always tought you should keep your existing customers satisfied as you already got those.
Several community based features are in dire need of fixes, yet it seems they have no priority.

I want to hear more about this, if you're willing to share.
