Wait wait wait... it wasn't a joke, right? Because I actually have one. Well, my father has, he has always been a big fan of Led Zeppelin.

They released "In Through The Out Door" in a brown paper bag, or what was supposed to look like one. It concealed one of four different covers, which of course lead (led :P) millions of people to spend countless amounts of money getting all four.

So basically they pioneered the alt cover gimmick that keeps the comic book industry alive. Neat.

Hmmm, this was 78/79. I thought comic books were into that way before then.
